Hey everyone! Whooh let me dust off this account real quick. ✨
On a personal note: I worked right up to Christmas this past year and my mental health (not work related) for the last month or two has been very much 👎🏻🗑️ so I’ve been taking most of January to rest and reset. Lots of sleeping in, hugging my family, reading, and eating comfort foods (shout out to the snow storm this week for an extra week of this.)
On a community and national note: Watching our democracy crumble and the rubble of it being spray painted a tacky shade of faded gold has been devastating and infuriating to say the least.
In the face of so many atrocities, I thought it would feel trivial to post my work. To show off cute babies and happy families when so many are being ripped apart, but then I thought about how art has always been what has gotten us through dark periods of human history. It’s the hope for a better tomorrow. It’s love in the face of hate. It’s being a brief but beautiful moment of humanity in your day so you can take a full breath, or smile for the first time in a while, or remember what we’re all fighting for.
So as my heart is breaking for our country, I will continue to share the work I’m doing. I have quite a few due dates in the calendar already this year and I’m looking forward to capturing the love and the hope and the happiness for as many of you as I can this year. Please stay safe out there and let’s take care of our neighbors. (🖕🏻🧊)
