🛼 LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE | ROLLFEST

This week, our Love Where You Live series took us to Hill Street Park in Frederick for RollFest!

What started with two people sharing a love for skating turned into something much bigger: an opportunity to bring the community together.

It was great seeing people of all ages and backgrounds enjoying something they love. Some were skating for the first time since childhood, while others had built friendships and found community through skating.

Community isn’t just about where we live. It’s about what we create together.

A huge shoutout to Paige Galloway, the RollFest team, and everyone who came out! We love seeing people take the initiative to bring Frederick together and create traditions that make our community special. Where should we stop next?!

There’s more to Frederick than what you see in the brochures.

Our city is filled with different cultures, neighborhoods, and people whose stories don’t always get told.

For years, local artists talked about the need for a music scene in Frederick. Now, they’re not just talking about it they’re creating it.

We spent the night at Rockwell Brewery with Demetrius and other artists who are helping shape that culture, creating opportunities, and building something right here in their own community.

Sometimes, loving where you live means recognizing what’s already here and celebrating the people pushing it forward.

This is Frederick. This is Love Where You Live.

For the past 7 years, we’ve been documenting a story that deserves to be preserved.

Join us on June 12 at THEARC Theater for the exclusive screening of “We Rep DC, We Are DC,” a documentary exploring the origins, evolution, and legacy of Beat Ya Feet culture through the voices of the Kings who helped shape it.

This film is a celebration of DC’s rhythm, resilience, and identity; and we’re honored to finally share it with the community.

What began as 40 strangers stepping into the woods became something much bigger 🏕️

Over the course of this journey, we witnessed conversations that mattered, connections that formed naturally, and moments of reflection that reminded us how important it is to slow down and be present 🧘🏾‍♂️

This experience was never just about camping… It was about community, mental wellness, and creating space for people to reconnect with nature, others, and themselves.
