The obsession continues...

Wednesday night, August 26th, storms were popping, and naturally, I had to be there in the action. I'm not quite sure how many times I must have been dropped as a child to make me enjoy being surrounded by electric death bolts, but somehow, it's my happy place. 🤷‍♂️😊

The first two shots were captured around Belcher, Louisiana, while the final photo was shot through the window of my hotel room at Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.

The little things... are the big things.

The gentle buzz of bees as they jet from one flower to the next, helping give life through pollination.

The delicate flutter of a butterfly as it effortlessly floats along in the breeze.

The Robber Fly as it quietly waits to inject venom into its next victim so it can suck their guts out through its built in straw.

Gotta keep an eye on the little things! 😉

A Mississippi Kite makes quick work of an unfortunate cicada, snatching it from the air before enjoying an aerial meal. These graceful raptors are remarkably agile, catching insects entirely on the wing and often eating them without ever needing to land.

A shelf cloud barrels across the countryside near Dubach, Louisiana, turning a quiet summer landscape into something far more dramatic. Formed by rain-cooled air rushing out ahead of a thunderstorm, these clouds typically signal gusty winds and a noticeable drop in temperature. For a few brief moments, the Louisiana heat took a back seat while nature put on an unforgettable show.

Shreveport, Louisiana!

I'm more at home on a backroad than a city street, but I've been spending quite a bit of time in Shreveport lately and have enjoyed exploring parts of the city I might have otherwise overlooked. These are some of the scenes that have caught my eye along the way.
