Spring is starting to show up everywhere, and I’m so ready for it, aren’t you?? The season always brings meaningful milestones — growing families, graduating seniors, little graduates, and those photos where mom finally gets to be in the frame too.

A few days ago, I shared a school portrait with a clean white backdrop. Today, the opposite!

There’s something about a simple black background that feels timeless. The focus goes straight to your child, their personality and the little details in their face.

No props. No distractions. Just them.

March always feels like that in-between season, still a little cozy but starting to feel like spring.

It’s such a sweet time to stay home and let me come to you!

For in-home short sessions, we can move from the living room to the backyard. Snuggles on the couch, cuddles on the front step, portraits of the pups!

These shorts are relaxed and simple, only 45 minutes, and only for March.  No pressure. No big production.

I’m trying something new around here…in-studio personality portraits on a clean white backdrop. No props. No big setup. Just your child, exactly as they are right now. ❤️

The white backdrop keeps it simple and puts all the focus on their expressions, their quirks, their little in-between faces.

Let’s wrap up winter!

I know despite these last few warm days that winter isn’t quite done with us yet. So before we jump fully into spring schedules and busy evenings, let’s wrap up this cozy season the right way.

For the month of March, I’m offering In-Home Short Sessions. I offered these before Christmas, and they were amazing! So relaxed. So real. Just 45 easy minutes in your own home.

No big production. No packing everyone up. Just your family in the space where life actually happens.

If you pair this with a summer and winter short session, you’ll have a full year of your family documented - different seasons, same people, all real.

Despite being a photographer, I often struggle to get family pictures made! It’s true! But I set up a little in-studio session for us recently, and I loved it so much, I thought I’d offer it to you too, in case you’re a bit of a procrastinator just like me!

For one day only, this Sunday, December 7th, I set aside some studio time for these 10 minute sessions. They are super simple and quick, just enough time to get a few images for holiday cards and photo gifts for family and friends.

🌲 I visited Pinewood Tree Farm this week and fell in love — it’s perfect for holiday photos. 🎄

Weekend golden hour spots are already sold out, so I’m checking to see who would be interested in a WEEKDAY golden hour short session this month or early November.

For October, the light is perfect for sessions around 4:30–5:30pm, and in early November, sessions need to be closer to 3-3:30pm to capture that warm sunset glow!
