During my trip to my hometown in Arkansas, I had the honor of photographing my granddaughter Madeline’s Peewee cheer team, and then individual photos of my older granddaughter Abigail Wolcott, who is a junior high cheerleader.

Standing on that football field hit me. Horatio is where my family went to school—my grandmother, my mom, me, then my kids, and now these girls.

I grew up in those bleachers, cheering for friends and watching our teams play. I went to football games there as a little girl, then got to be there with my kids through their high school years, and I got to watch graduations on that field.

So standing there with my camera, photographing two of my granddaughters and a whole team of Peewee cheerleaders, was just a wonderful rush of memories.

It felt like generations of memories all coming together while new memories were being made right in front of me.

It was nostalgic, sweet, and honestly just a little bit surreal. My heart was full.

Sweet boy Oliver šŸ¾šŸ’™

I had the honor of photographing Oliver yesterday for Tails of Music City, right there on the pedestrian bridge as the sun was setting. And this morning, this sweet boy had surgery.

We’re so thankful to hear that Oliver came through it just fine! ā¤ļø Now it’s time for lots of rest, love, and healing.

Wishing you a very restful recovery, sweet Oliver. We can’t wait to see you feeling like yourself again! šŸ¾ā˜€ļøšŸ’™

You only have to share what you want.

Especially inside Honor Her.

Before you ever step in front of the camera, I’m already thinking about what ā€œrespectfulā€ means for you: what feels true, what feels like too much, and what you want your daughter (and other women veterans) to feel when they see you.

During the experience, I keep conversation going so nothing feels stiff or performative, and I guide you gently so your strength shows without you having to prove it.

This is what dignity looks like in real life.

Senior year moves fast.

And somewhere between deadlines, decisions, and the next big thing, it’s easy to keep saying, ā€œWe’ll do it later.ā€

But this version of your senior, right on the edge of what’s next, deserves to be seen now.

You just want to see that she’s ready before she leaves for college.

If your cat is the ā€œreserved one,ā€ I understand; so many pet parents feel this way.

That’s why I don’t treat a portrait experience like it’s a performance.

I look for the hiding places (because yes, they’ll find one anyway).
I keep things calm and quiet.
I use simple play to invite curiosity.
And I build in something most people skip: time.

Because when your cat finally decides, ā€œOkay… I’m safe,ā€ that’s when the real personality shows up.

You just get to be with them. I’ll guide the rest.

One of the most powerful parts of Honor Her isn’t the camera.

It’s the decision: ā€œI deserve to be honored for me.ā€

You feel honored for what you carried and confident in who you are now.

And that confidence becomes living evidence for the women watching you, especially your daughter, that strength can include tenderness… and worth doesn’t require permission.

If anything I’ve shared this month resonated with you, and you’ve been feeling that pull to honor your cat and the love you share, let’s have a conversation.

A Discovery Call is just that: a calm, no-pressure chat where you tell me about your cat, what you love most about them, and what you want to remember.

Then I’ll walk you through what a portrait experience looks like, answer your questions, and help you decide what feels right.

Send me a message and tell me your cat’s name (and their funniest little habit). I’d love to hear your story.

ā€œThis will be a legacy to pass down to my daughter.ā€

That’s the moment right there.

Not ā€œI need photos.ā€
Not ā€œI want to look perfect.ā€
But: I want her to see me. I want her to know what I carried mattered.

You feel honored for what you carried, and confident in who you are now.
