That’s a whole lotta ass.
RJ Corman Train Z545-05 rolls through Benson Valley in Frankfort, KY with a duo of tunnel motors up front. A few donkeys came up to say hello and watch the train as well, but this one was a bit noisy.

NS train 179 sits tied down at CP Bowen just south of Danville, KY with NS 8100, the Nickel Plate Road Heritage Unit leading the way. This train has been tied down for at least over 48 hours and counting. Also, I have not shot this unit since April 1, 2019.

This senior forgot where he lived.
Norfolk Southern train 336 rolls by Greendale In Lexington, KY with a pair of BNSF motors up front, with one being a Ex-BN SD40-2, being built in 1978. The SD40’s are used on local and yard service on the BNSF system, so seeing them on a different railroad on a road train (that didn’t even originate on its home rails) is pretty different.

Tunnel Motors through Midway
A pair of 2 Ex-DRGW Tunnel Motors lead the RJ Corman ALCAN Express, also known as the “Red Rocket” through Midway, KY on a Sunday evening. This train should’ve ran loaded on this day, but the train tied down at Duckers due to several downed trees along the line after a strong wind storm. This train would also meet the Jett Local just down the line at McKee.

The Longest RJ Corman Train?
Last Sunday, I went out to Lexington, KY to shoot some trains, and while I was there, a combined RJ Corman Sand and ALCAN train came into town. The crew would first cut off the sand consist, and then bring the ALCAN consist into the yard. Seen in this picture, are 3 Tunnel Motors, soon to Leave the Property, a Ex-NS SD70M, a GP38-2 and a SD60.

It wasn’t the first time, and it’ll probably be the last time I’ll do this.
The RJ Corman Empty Sand Train rolls through Frankfort, KY in the early morning with GMTX 9014 leading and RJCC 2598, a former NS SD70M sandwiched in the middle. Trailing third, is RJCC 3806, a GP38-2. Also in the consist up front is covered hoppers, which isn’t really that common.
