I will be taking some time off to focus on my family and health. .Recently I was diagnosed with Endometrial and ovarian cancer . I have decided I want to share this next chapter of my life with my Facebook friends and family to raise awareness. The last couple years I've struggled with constant bloating, fatigue,no appetite, feeling full , upset stomach, heart burn , extreme headaches and weight gain for no reason. No Dr found the cause and many times I was told it was from PCOS or endometriosis. Then on April 9th I was watching my son and his baseball team warm up before their game. One of the boys missed a catch and the ball hit me in the stomach .I was fine and kids felt bad . I laughed it off . That night I ended up curled up in the fetal position in horrible pain . Being hard headed I decided to just sleep it off . Well the next morning it was worse . I went to the ER . I'll never forget the Dr telling me "Baseball might have just saved your life! You have a baseball sized mass on your o***y" being hit with the ball aggravated the mass. I was then sent to my obgyn . They wanted to just remove the right o***y and mass but my gut kept telling me just to have a complete hysterectomy so that's what I pushed for . A blood test was done and came back elevated for ovarian cancer so I was rendered to a gynecologist /oncologist . Once again I was asked are you sure you want it all taken out . I said yes. I had surgery on May 14th. I ended up with laproscopic and then an abdominal incision because the mass had gotten about the size of a softball. I had so much bloating because my abdomen and pelvic area was filled with a fluid. I spent 8 days in the hospital due to some complications. From removing the mass and fluid I lost over 26 pounds. I'm glad I pushed for a complete hysterectomy because that's how they found that I had endometrial cancer in my uterus.
I've had a hard time healing my abdominal incision but feel better over all. The headaches that once had me bed ridden are gone. I get a headache every now and then but nothing like before. I'm even off my prevention migraine meds. On Monday I had my port put in for chemo treatments and will begin that on July 5th . Many have reached out to me about an Amazon wish list and a go fund me. I will get that started. Above all I just want to raise awareness. So this is the start of my journey .
*Also if anyone has delt with chemo and knows tips and tricks things I may need feel free to let me know .
