I love hearing people's stories because every person has one.
We're all living books, some stories are simply written in our lives instead of on paper. Some chapters are filled with heartbreak, mistakes, loss, and struggles. Others are filled with redemption, grace, and new beginnings.
Today, I'm honored to share the testimony of a couple whose lives have been transformed by faith. Their journey is a powerful reminder that no one is beyond God's reach and no story is too broken for Him to redeem.
From addiction and prison to restoration, marriage, and a life rooted in Christ, their story reflects the truth that God's grace can change everything.
As they share their testimony, my prayer is that it encourages someone who may be walking through a difficult season to remember that God is still writing their story.
"No past is too messy, no circumstance too hopeless, and no life beyond the redeeming power of God."
✝️ From The Betz,
Two people who once lived in chains to addiction, prison cells, and the empty promises of this world found freedom through the grace of God and the power of sacrificial love. Our marriage is not built on perfection, but on redemption. Through every hard season, every setback, and every scar, God kept writing a greater story. Together, we have learned that real love fights, forgives, and refuses to give up. What the enemy meant for destruction, God transformed into a testimony of healing, restoration, and unwavering faith. Our Pastor once said "Everything that was meant to tear you two apart only brought you closer together in your marriage and that speaks loudly!" People use the term "thick and thin" but have they faced a situation no one else would have stayed and yet our love did. Our marriage is a true thick and thin kind of marriage. Through everything we have grown together, overcome together, loved each other past the hardest moments. Being someone's forever means being there for it all. The smiles, tears, the best of times and those earth shattering moments when all you can do is cling to each other. Our love story can be found in giggles that echo throughout our home, the snuggles, the inside jokes, friendship we share. Because we have walked this beautiful life out together hand in hand.
Today, we stand as living proof that no past is too messy and no circumstance is too hopeless. Our journey reminds us that true love endures, grace abounds, and redemption is real.
Marriage, as we have learned, is not about keeping score or demanding our own way. Its not about who is right or wrong its about being a team. It is about serving one another with the same humble love Christ demonstrated when He knelt to wash His disciples' feet. The King of Kings chose the posture of a servant, teaching that love is found in sacrifice, patience, forgiveness, and grace. In the same way, we have learned that a strong marriage is built one act of service at a time, choosing each other daily even when life is hard.
There were moments when we carried each other's burdens, moments when one was weak and the other stood strong, and moments when grace had to speak louder than mistakes. Through it all, Jesus showed us that love is not merely a feeling but a commitment to lay down our lives, extend mercy, and serve one another wholeheartedly. As one. Truly one. We are evidence that love truly does conquer all. Our promise still stands to each other today and everyday. And the most beautiful thing of all is we love each other more today than we ever could have imagined before, because now we know what true love looks like and we found it in each other. Best friends and love of each others lives. The Lord is faithful and we stand in that promise.
