I don’t do a ton of newborn sessions, and I’ll be the first to admit I’m still learning and growing when it comes to these tiny little clients.

But every single time I do one, I’m reminded how much I LOVE them once I get going.

There’s just something about slowing everything down, wrapping those tiny little babies up, fixing all the little details, and capturing those sweet faces that will change SO quickly. And can we talk about the tiny hands, sleepy faces, and baby snuggles?!

Photography is one of those things where I’m constantly learning, trying new things, and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and I’m pretty proud of how these turned out.
So maybe this is my sign that I need to get a few more newborns in front of my camera.

If you’re expecting or know someone who is, send them my way! I’d love to do more newborn sessions and keep growing in this area.

And seriously… LOOK AT HER. 🍒🎀 How am I supposed to work when my clients are this cute?!

But there's something about a 50th wedding anniversary that feels different.

Fifty years of choosing each other.
Fifty years of weathering life's storms, celebrating its joys, raising a family, growing older, and still reaching for each other's hand.

That's not just love...
That's commitment.
That's grace.
That's a lifetime of memories.

Getting to document a love story that's lasted five decades was such an honor. In a world where so much is temporary, this kind of love is a beautiful reminder that forever really can exist.

🌼Meet Whitley Stivers , one of my Class of 2027 Senior Reps!

Whitley is a senior at Gibson Southern High School.

She's been doing gymnastics for as long as she can remember, and it's been such a big part of her life. When she's not in the gym, you can usually find her grabbing ice cream, soaking up the sun, or spending time with her best friend.

She also love's to travel, especially to the beach! After high school, she hopes to attend college in the Florida Keys and continue chasing her dreams while living somewhere close to the ocean.

Senior sessions are special.
But when it's your own child standing in front of your camera...it's different.

As photographers, we're always freezing time for everyone else. Somehow we forget that our own babies keep growing too.
This session was emotional for me because every click of the shutter reminded me that the little girl who used to hold my hand is now becoming a young woman finding her own way.

Somewhere between adjusting her hair, straightening her dress, and telling her how beautiful she looked, I forgot she was a senior for just a moment.
For a little while, she was my little girl again.
And as a mom... I'd give just about anything to go back in time or even slow time down, even if it was only for the length of a photo session.

Life doesn't always look the way we imagined it would, but moments like these remind me to simply be thankful for the time we have together. Last night, we laughed, created, and for a little while it was just me and Avery making memories.

These photos will always mean more to me than anyone else could ever know.

To all the parents of seniors... don't wait. Take the pictures. Because these moments become memories far sooner than we're ready for.
I love you, Avery. I'll always be your biggest fan. ❤️
