Teaching the next generation!

What a fabulous time with my young students. Getting them out showing them how to use their camera, how to take more creative shots, teaching the exposure triangle, rule of thirds, compostion and how to start shooting in manual!

This has really fueled my soul. I just had a student graduate from her first 4 lessons with me today as well! These kids really surprise me. ❤️

My heart is full

Just so everyone is aware, my beautiful daughter and law could be potentially having her baby anytime in the next week or so. If by chance I have to reschedule a session, please know that it's for the best circumstances. I will be sending a message to all my upcoming clients. I hope you know how incredibly special it is to watch you carry her.

Your body is doing something extraordinary. Your heart is already stretching around a love you haven’t even fully met yet. Every change, every uncomfortable day, every quiet worry, every little flutter and kick is part of the beginning of a story you will tell her someday.

You are the first home she has ever known.
Truly something remarkable.

As I listened to each interview with members of her team during a full branding shoot for her company, Real Estate Dealmakers, there was one common thread in the way they spoke about her:

Dedicated. Passionate. Driven. And deeply determined to see people connect, grow, and win.

Although I had already committed to becoming part of this incredible community, I have to say, I found myself completely in awe.

As I listened to each person speak, I kept thinking, This is what I’ve been missing.

A true tribe of people who genuinely want to see one another succeed. People who understand that your success does not take away from theirs. People who believe that when one of us wins, we all win.

In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude.

Gratitude that I met Gabrielle a few years ago completely by happenstance. Grateful that what we thought was simply a photoshoot all those years ago became the beginning of something neither of us could have predicted.

Today, I am proud to call her not only a friend but a woman I deeply admire for her vision, her drive, her heart, and everything she continues to build.

Throughout the day, I watched her take phone call after phone call, connect with multiple people, navigate multiple deals, lead her team, and continue moving everything forward…

And through it all, she still had that beautiful little smile on her face.

She was happy.

Not overwhelmed by everything she was carrying—but genuinely happy to be doing the work, creating opportunities, connecting people, and helping others build something bigger.

And now, I’m incredibly happy to have found a new home within her company and this community as well.

Here’s to the connections we never saw coming, the doors we didn’t know were waiting to open, and all the adventures still ahead.

Oh, my sweet family! This one hits different.

I blinked...

And somehow the little boy I tucked into bed became the man waiting to meet his daughter.

I'm not sure I've completely grasped this moment, where my little boy, now a man, is welcoming his own little one into this world

Where you realize your child is about to experience every first you've held so closely in your own heart.

Her first breath.

Her first cry.

The first time she wraps those impossibly tiny fingers around his.

I wonder who she'll look like. Will she have her daddy's eyes, her momma's smile? Her daddy's quiet strength. Her mama's gentle heart?

Will she inherit resilience from the generations before her?
Compassion.
Courage.
The ability to love fiercely after disappointment.
To stand back up after life knocks her down.

Maybe that's what family really passes on.

No matter what, this sweet little ember that has already lit up my heart, I know, will be extraordinary.

Welcome to a family that's been saving a place for you long before we knew your name.

We already love you, sweet Iris.

Why did I start hosting education events?
It wasn't just because of the education and all the new techniques I know are imperative to grow.
Most importantly, it was about getting to know my peers and my community and building relationships.
True relationships where you could actually build a tribe of people from all around the world.
People that you can then call and ask to help you with a struggle you're going through in your business.
People that you could lean on when things weren't going right and you just needed somebody to hear you out and know they too understand.
People that you could throw ideas at and get creative with.
People that you weren't afraid of messing up in front of.
People who would support and encourage you when you felt like an imposter.
It's people!
This is why Recompose was built and why we will continue to invite instructors from all over the world who have the same vision and passion to bring people together and give them the best of the best.
With that being said, I am excited to announce another exciting workshop coming in October with none other than Nino Batista and Briana Noir.

The submission process is open now, and only 10 will be chosen to join us in this very intimate workshop! I am elated to be hosting these individuals. Also excited to have them be a part of my tribe and I of theirs.

Laid Bare Retreats aim to help aspiring and pro bo***ir photographers create more efficient work, build stronger client connections, and looking to improve their knowledge in working in intimate portraiture.
