With her family's blessing, I am sharing Kate's story...
In May, doctors discovered a tumor on the base of (then) 5 month old Kate's bladder called Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. The tumor was a little larger than a golf ball, and caused a blockage that made her bladder swell to 3-4x its normal size. Treatment started immediately, and Kate is currently in week 13 of a 60 week chemo treatment plan. She starts a special type of proton radiation on Thursday at Emory in Atlanta.
Kate is such a little FIGHTER! And throughout her session she was all smiles. Such a sweet and happy girl! And, by the way...her mama is pretty awesome too. She is walking every mom's absolute worse nightmare, and doing it was such grace. This family is one of my favorites and I am in awe of their strength. Please join me in praying for Kate, her family, and her doctors.
