After a long time away from my art, I have decided to come back to what I enjoy. This time, though, I want to free myself up and try to express myself through a more interpretive style. I have been experimenting with new techniques, products, and paper surfaces. This watercolor sketch of Pope Francis was done on a 5” x 8” piece of cold-pressed watercolor paper coated with watercolor ground. I am trying the QOR line of products and have been quite impressed so far. I am limiting myself to just three colors for each painting. I am also trying out mineral paper (which is quite different and takes some getting used to). I have been trying inks and other liquid pigments to see how they behave on these different surfaces. It has been freeing and exciting, and I hope to work up to some larger pieces as I learn to harness these new mediums.

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post anything. Normally I post my artwork, but I have been finding that the iPhone camera is more capable than I imagined. This is an iPhone photo of some wilted flowers that were just sitting on our kitchen counter. After a little touch up, I was amazed at the results.

Third Thursday is a monthly art crawl held in the Near Southside Arts district hosted by galleries and local businesses. It is designed to give local artists more opportunities for exposure and allow patrons a chance to shop local.

Voted Fort Worth Weekly magazine's 2020 "Best Place to Buy Wine" - Critic's Choice! Grand Cru Wine Bar is an independent, locally-owned wine bar and fine wine shop that captures the charm of Magnolia Avenue and Fort Worth's Southside within the walls of a historic 1920s-era building.

Come by and try a flight of some fantastic wines and check out some of the watercolor paintings I've selected for the show. I would love to meet everyone that stops by.

2022 is presented by Trinity Metro on Saturday, April 23, from noon to 10 pm. I'll be participating alongside more than 750 artists and 30 bands on Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth's Near Southside. Find all the details for this FREE family-friendly event at www.artsgoggle.org.

Now Showing at my favorite Gallery!! South Barbershop in Fort Worth Texas.
My watercolor portraits are of the people that live here in this community. Each one with their own unique stories. Laleh has been gracious enough to allow me to display my artwork in her shop for everyone to see. She is celebrating her third year in business!!
