It’s been a quiet summer over here at A Lovely Journey Photography. Well not personally with 4 kids home (haha!) but on the photography side it has been. I wanted to hop on here and share the announcement that I will no longer be offering sessions. I have been feeling the tug for awhile now to close the doors of A Lovely Journey Photography. I kept ignoring it and pushing through whatever feelings of resistance there was. However, this summer has forced me to really stop and work through all of that. And when I really allowed myself to be honest I know that the season of being a photographer is coming to a close. I’m looking forward to getting back to capturing moments with these 4, something I haven’t made time for as often as I wanted to.

It’s definitely a very bittersweet thing to come to this decision. There are not enough words to express how truly grateful I am for all of my clients who entrusted me to be apart of capturing some of your most special memories! Being a photographer these past 5+ years has opened up so many amazing opportunities and has allowed me to meet so many wonderful people. I am truly grateful for all of you for following along with me on this lovely journey. From the bottom of my heart - thank you!!

The 3 older kids had their routine dentist appointment this morning and I think I was more nervous than they were! All of the dental work I had to have done growing up scarred me 😅 but also, going to the dentist as kids now is nothing like when I was a kid. They make it SO fun with tvs everywhere, so many prizes, all the things! I‘m honestly a tad jealous 😂 anyone else feel this way?

Here’s to hoping 2023 is full of more family in-home sessions! This sweet mama reached out to me and asked if I could get some updated family photos for them. They wanted to celebrate moving to a new home and completing their kitchen reno (isn’t their design amazing!!). The only request she had was that she wanted it to look like out of a Dwell Magazine

I love when clients have a vision for their session and share that with me because it helps me see what means a lot to you so that I can better capture it through my lens. It’s such an honor to get to step inside someone’s home and document them for who they are!

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe during this icy week here in Texas! Do we think there is hope the kids will be back in school tomorrow?? My older 2 are biting at the bit to go back and see their friends and teacher. I think they are over their mom’s silly ideas of entertainment this past week 😂

I am working to add a new type of session to my packages and I need your help!! I want to start offering Fresh 48 sessions starting in October. However, I need 2 families that would be willing to let me test run this type of session before I go live with it and allow me to use the images for my portfolio.

So…..if anyone is due or knows if anyone due between now and the end of September and would be interested please reach out to me via the contact page on my website.

The session will include a 45 minute session, 15 edited images, and a print release. This session will be HIGHLY discounted as a thank you for your time and assistance in launching this new package. **Participants MUST be willing to sign a model release so that I may use the images for marketing purposes**.
Session will take place at place of birth before discharge home and must be within the Aledo/Fort Worth area.

Throwing it back to one of favorite sessions of all time 🤍 some dear friends of ours who were actually one of my very first clients way back when I first started allowed me to do an anniversary shoot for them as they celebrated 10 years. Kyle actually set it all up as a surprise to Layne but ended up telling her right before the session since he figured she would want to be prepared wardrobe wise ☺️ I love shooting new love as couples just get engaged and are about to embark on a new journey together, but there is something just so so special about getting to capture a couple who has weathered through rain and rainbows together. It’s magical!

I miss this exact location so much in Tulsa. It was here I had so many amazing sessions and could really let my soul unleash and all the creativity flow. I have still have yet to find a spot like that here in Texas but I know I’ll find that little gem some day ✨
