I didn’t realize I was already recording but it worked out for behind the scenes purposes!!!🎬

How I go about parent first looks:
- Keep it simple but work it into timeline still
- Bring them to bridal suite to avoid her being seen (unless otherwise requested of course)
- Direct the positioning and overly communicate
- Have my second photographer capturing brides reaction while I capture parent reaction

The music was the cherry on top for this one🥹

And here’s the secret to achieving it…

1- First and foremost- creating SO much flexibility and downtime in your timeline!!! This allows time and space for stress to slow and fun small moments to happen

2- Girl bonding time. Whether it’s your bachelorette celebration, rehearsal dinner, take the time to have your bridesmaids bond! Often times your bridesmaids may come from different circles or parts of your life and so your wedding day will feel that much more cohesive if everyone gets to bond beforehand!💄

3- Music & vibes. Bring out the snacks, the fun playlist, and anything fun to romanticize the morning🎶

4- Mindset. Go into your wedding day viewing it as a CELEBRATION! Not a photoshoot, not something that needs to go perfectly, but something to be enjoyed. A day that you’ll never get back. Live fully in each moment🤍

It will sneak up on you, so here’s my advice…

Book those critical vendors ASAP! Vendors book up fast.

There’s only ONE single day on the calendar for your wedding. That means if you want first dibs on your venues and vendors, you’ve got to book them quickly because once they book your date out, you can’t get it back. 📆

For photography, I recommend booking about a year in advance. If you’re able to book even sooner to ensure your date, do it!!🤍

Let me lay it out for you:

Each photographer has their own way of going about your wedding portraits. So here’s mine!📸

1- We will set expectations before wedding day

2- Couples portraits are about 25 minutes. I include a mix of classic traditional portraits as well as fun, movement based candids! You’re fully guided through it all! My job is to direct you, you will be taken care of!

3- Family portraits are 15-25 minutes following the ceremony. We create a family shot list together prior to the wedding, this makes things seamless & quick!

4- Wedding party portraits are 20-30 minutes. (Either before or after ceremony depending on if you’ve done a first look.) A classic shot, and a couple fun prompted moments for the whole group, as well as just the guys and just the girls! It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s fun. Not drawn out, and not taking you away from your day! We can also do an individual photo with you and each person if desired!

My goal is to be EFFICIENT with capturing beautiful portraits so that your day doesn’t feel like a photoshoot! Apart from these portraits, I observe your day as it happens and document it as the story that it is. That means I’m not poking and prodding outside of portraits, but simply capturing your precious wedding day moments as they beautifully and naturally unfold🤍✨

Your venue interior SETS THE TONE!!

What to look for when wedding venue shopping:

-Lots of windows (the more light the better!)
-White walls for more elegance
-Large rooms for less a crammed feel
-A neutral space that can be transformed however you want
