I’m on my way to finishing ‘s final galleries and I find myself welling up while editing. There’s a sense of reminiscence as I click through each Femme’s images. It’s not just a longing to have that time back, although I wish I could. I become overwhelmed with love for each of these women who went to the retreat seeking friendship and confidence and left with self-discovery and newfound appreciation for who they are and what they bring to this world.
La Femme is a transformative experience. You come for something you want and leave with something you didn’t know you needed. I’m so proud of all the Femmes who didn’t bow down to their fears and, instead, eagerly embraced the unknown through their doubts and “what ifs”.
That awe inspiring feeling came over me while editing this photo of Katie: a beautiful mother of three who could have made all the excuses as to why she shouldn’t attend the retreat, but came anyway with an open heart and mind AND WE’RE ALL GLAD SHE DID. She left an impact on our lives alongside all the other Femmes.
Something to be realized about this retreat is that it’s not only about what can be given to you but what YOU can give to the women around you. They need what only you can give and that is a really powerful thing. Don’t forget that. Stop underestimating all you are.
