I have to admit, this week has given me a little extra spring in my step. ❤️

I’ve spent the last few months putting a lot of work into rebuilding my photography business — figuring out what I want it to look like, putting myself out there again, and trusting that if I keep showing up, things will start moving.

And this week, they did. 📸

I have portrait sessions going on the calendar, photography coaching is growing, and in just over a week I’ll be heading to Thailand with my camera for a whole new adventure.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has shared a post, encouraged me, booked a session, purchased a gift card, or simply told someone about my work. Those little things really do matter when you’re building a small business.

Sessions like this remind me why photographs matter so much.
Kids grow. Families change. Life moves incredibly fast. A photograph gives us a way to hold onto a little piece of what life looked and felt like right now.
That’s what I want to create when I photograph a family—not just pretty pictures, but photographs that will matter more and more as the years go by.

Sometimes the photographer belongs in the frame, too. 😂📷

Some days are about websites, marketing, emails and all the behind-the-scenes work that comes with being a photographer.

And some days I get to pick up my camera and simply CREATE.

Today is one of those days.

I’m heading out for a portrait shoot this afternoon, and I’ve been thinking about lighting, color, angles and all the little details that can turn a photograph into something more than just a picture.

This is the part I love.

Whether I’m photographing a person, a city halfway around the world, or a landscape that makes me stop in my tracks, I’m always looking for the same thing — light, emotion and a little bit of magic.

Even with some pretty nasty weather outside today, I’m excited to see what we create. 💜
