I wasn't expecting to see anything on the CF&E Railroad when I was on my way home from northwest Indiana on May 21st but as I was going east on U.S. 30, a train went by going west so I turned around and chased it for a bit. Here, the train is at Wanatah, Indiana and is at the spot where the Monon used to cross. This train was being led by it's America 250 unit and this was my first time seeing it.

It seems like every time I go through Grabill, Indiana, there’s never a train going through there. I lucked out last Sunday as there was one waiting to head south but had to let the oncoming train get into the siding first. I didn’t have my scanner on me so I don’t know the symbols on either one but it was nice to see something here lol. This is the Norfolk Southern Huntington District which is a former Wabash line.

I saw a light in the distance and it was the local, train L96. I got it in a couple locations and here, it’s about to cross the county road 64 crossing just north of Spencerville, Indiana.

The local showed up and I got a shot of it crossing the former Pennsylvania Railroad tracks which can be seen in the background.
