I never imagined I would get to live a life where I came home from church and my kids ran around barefoot in the dirt with their friends for the rest of the day.

I never imagined our only plans for that week would be to plant some wildflower seeds, sit in the sun, and read some good books.

I never imagined I would get to learn and grow alongside them every minute of everyday.

I certainly never imagined that I would get to thank the good Lord endlessly for all the hard things that He'd use to grow and change me.

I'm so thankful that the Lord's plans for my life were far greater than my own.

Life lately 🤍

Abby Grace turned 1 at the end of January! We did a very simple but special dinner at home to celebrate her, and it filled my heart with so much joy. Everything homemade, everything peaceful, it was perfect. She's just the happiest girly. Always smiling, and laughing, and teaching us what strength really looks like. She is doing wonderful, and surprises us everyday with new tricks.

Life has been slow and beautiful lately. Lots of days at home, outside all day, gardening, chicken loving, homemade meals multiple times a day.

After meeting with an amazing pediatric endocrinologist in Tampa, we decided to start Abby on IV infusions that help to strengthen her bones. She had her first infusion last week, and many many prayers were answered. The team at the Tampa General infusion center were incredible. Abby fell asleep in my arms after the infusion started and she slept through the whole thing. Praise God. We also got to meet other kiddos with OI, and talk to the families to get some insight and that was so fun. It's a small community being in the OI world, but knowing we'll get to meet other families every time we go for infusions is such a blessing.

This past year has taught us more than I would be able to write in this short amount of time that I have to make this post. But, one of the greatest things the Lord has been teaching us this past year is gratefulness. Every little mundane moment is such a gift. It's somewhat easy to rely less on the Lord when you're not in the valley, and that's a scary thing to think about. I don't ever want to be in a place again where my heart doesn't long for the Lord every moment of everyday. I'm so thankful for the valley. I'm thankful for the unknowns, that have given me the deep longing, and desperate need for Jesus. Without the unknowns, I wouldn't have to trust God with all that I have. I think of James 1:2-3 often, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance".

That hits me so much differently now, than it did years ago. I can feel pure joy, in the midst of uncertainty, only because of Christ. Thank you Jesus.

Andi and Luke have been such amazing siblings. They can't give her enough lovin everyday, and they light up as much as her dad and I do whenever she does new things. Life just feels so extra sweet. I wish I could go back and meet with myself 7 years ago, before I became a mother, and teach myself the art of slowing down, and of cherishing motherhood. These are truly the best days of my life.

Hey there to all my clients, and amazing friends and family!

I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas and is enjoying this sweet in between time while we wait for New Years.

I realize that I haven't made an official announcement about the state of my photography business with all that has been going on. I'm sure most of you have seen but for those that haven't, I wanted to update.

Back in October our sweet Abby girl fractured her femur, and we got results back that she has type 1 Osteogenesis Imperfecta, also known as brittle bone disease. This is a rare genetic bone disease in which her bones are extremely fragile, breaking sometimes just by moving her the wrong way. After the fracture in October, Abby wore a special spica cast for 4 weeks. Her cast was off for just two weeks and then she fractured her other femur bone the day before Thanksgiving. Her second spica cast just came off two days before Christmas, praise the Lord.

We are still very much in the learning phase, and looking into possible treatments to help strengthen her bones. God has been SO good and we feel Him working in every piece of her life, and ours. He has given us so much peace, and He is quite literally giving me the strength to carry her for months and months and I'm beyond grateful for the growth He's given us spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. We are also praising Him for Abby's resilience and joy through all of this. She's always laughing and smiling, and is just the toughest little girl. She brings us so much joy and I thank God almost hourly these days for all the little things that are actually big things. We are so blessed. The prayers, love, donations, and support that family friends, and even strangers have provided us with are more helpful that we can even express. We are beyond thankful for your love and generosity.

Our day to day life can change in a moment now, making our days a little unpredictable. Abby also needs my care, solely, so I won't be able to leave her. Because of this, I'll be putting my photography business on hold. I don't know when I'll return, but I look forward to being able to give 100% to my family right now.

I'll also be cancelling my gallery sharing website for now, so that I'm not paying monthly for something I'm not using. I'll be emailing everyone this week as a reminder but I wanted to share on here as well. If you haven't downloaded your galleries to your devices, I strongly suggest doing so, because once I cancel my account, they will be erased from Pixieset. I always have ALL my galleries stored on an external hard drive, but it would be easiest if you downloaded them straight from your link.

If you've lost your personal link to your gallery please message me and I'd be happy to send it over! This is for all galleries present and years past. I'll send one last reminder in a week before I cancel as well.

Thank you for understanding as we navigate these new things. We love you and are so grateful for you. To all my clients that have trusted me with their beautiful memories over the years, know that I have been filled with joy in capturing these moments for you. Thank you and Happy New Year 🤍

Old photo of Abby* but most recent update!

Abby got a new Spica cast Monday afternoon and she's a happy girl, she is doing great. For those that don't know, she fractured her other femur the day before thanksgiving, just two weeks after getting out of her other spica cast.

We are still learning and navigating her new brittle bone diagnosis, and we are hopeful that we can start IV infusions next year to help strengthen her bones. We are SO humbled and grateful for the outpouring of kindness over these last couple of months. Every prayer, meal, encouraging word, and donation has been more helpful than we could put into words.

Through all of this Abby has remained her happy sweet self. She is not bothered by much. She loves to laugh at her crazy siblings, clap her hands, be outside, and never leave her mamas side. The Lord has given us so much peace, and strength. He's continually teaching us and growing us through this.

If Abby is on your prayer list, will you continue to pray for the Lord to strengthen her bones, and for clarity making decisions when it comes to doctors and treatment moving forward. Because Abby was born with clubbed feet, we are already established with one of the greatest ortho teams in the world. Praise God, they are just 1 hour away from us! They will still be treating her feet, and they are the ones that cast her when she has a fracture, but we are still looking for other doctors, like endocrinology, etc.

If you have been so generous to donate to the go fund me page that was made, will you please message me with your address? I will be sending something in the mail 🤍 We are more grateful than we can express.

Thank you ALL for everything. What a village 🙏

Last week our family got some fairly unexpected news regarding our sweet baby girl. She is doing well, and she is going to be okay. God has been so good to us, but we have a lot of new things to navigate. I will share more in the future, but wanted to keep this fairly short. I will be taking the rest of the year off from photography as our family learns to navigate these changes, while also keeping up with our other kiddos and making sure everyone has enough of mama. I don’t want to spread myself thin, in a season where I’m needed most.

I hope to take bookings next year, but will keep you updated if anything changes. I am so thankful for each and every one of you. We are also incredibly thankful for all of our friends and family that have carried us through this past week, brought us meals and gifts, and for all the prayers. God is so good, and we already feel the peace that only He provides.

I’m going to be hopping off of social media, but as always you can visit my website and send me an email to inquire, as I will be checking that intermittently. Happy holidays, friend!

It’s officially my favorite time of the year. Everything feels slower, and cozier, and being home is my favorite place to be. 🏡

Being at home for your photo session is such an added bonus when it comes to telling your story. Here are some of the top reasons I believe (and hear from clients) why in home documentary sessions are the best.

*everyone is more comfortable at home
*you never have to leave or travel for your session
*everyone gets to just be themselves
*your home is part of your story
*you get to include all the things you enjoy as a family
*dads actually love it

One of the big questions I get asked has to do with the condition of the home. Something along the lines of, “what if my house really isn’t cute”, or “should I wait until this renovation is done?”

Please, if I can say anything it’s this. You will not care what your home looked like 20 years from now when you’re looking at your photos. In fact, all those things you think you don’t love like, the old kitchen cabinets, the messed up floors, and the unfinished bathrooms…WILL be nostalgic to see again one day. Because THIS is your life, this is your family, and this is your story. The kids are only getting older, and in my opinion the house is better just the way it is.

Cozy up, grab a cup of coffee, read a book, I’ll take care of the rest.

Are you ready to tell your story in 2026? I’d love to chat about your family and get to know you more!

I love the way Retta explained this session in her recent post. She said “the older I get, the more I love being home. We got to relax at our shack on the tracks, our little village bungalow, while she took these pictures”.

I love coming to your homes. I love freezing a seemingly mundane moment, that will one day be a priceless memory. I love it all.

Retta and Danny welcomed baby Ronnie home and he’s just perfect in every way. We had the coziest session in their adorable bungalow.
