Sometimes you gotta get on the other side of the camera and take a selfie, for your clients’ sake.

I always like to do a couple of test shots before my subject gets here. It gives you time to perfect the lighting BEFORE they are standing in front of your camera.

The Struggle is Reel

This is harder than I thought…

Editing a documentary sounds pretty straightforward… until you actually have to edit the documentary.

In this behind-the-scenes look, I’m in the middle of cutting my first mini documentary and, well… I’m struggling.

I’m figuring out the story, second-guessing my choices, getting excited about certain moments, and occasionally wondering what the hell I’m doing.

This is the part of filmmaking you don’t always see: the messy middle between having an idea and actually turning it into a film.

The struggle is reel.

Although I don’t normally shoot weddings, it was an honor to capture this beautiful couple and their loving family. I have a renewed appreciation for wedding photographers - it’s a great responsibility to properly capture timeless memories for the bride & groom!
