Thank you to all who supported my kids through my photography fundraiser. What began as a way for me to slow down and relax became a way to help my children chase their love of wrestling. Because of your help, there will soon be some Noochu traveling abroad. As they prepare for this adventure, I’m looking forward to some quiet time with my camera, getting back to the basics, and finding beauty in the simple moments.

To carry the responsibility of representing your people is an act of love, love for our culture, our community, and the teachings that guide us. Every detail of her regalia tells a story of culture, tradition, and love. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to preserve a small piece of that story through my lens. ❤️

As I captured these images, I couldn't help but notice the way this family laughed together, stood close together, and carried themselves w pride. Graduating alongside your twin is something truly special, growing up side by side and reaching this milestone together with your family cheering you on every step of the way. Having Grandma there makes it even more meaningful. In our Ute culture, our grandmothers are so important. They are our strength, our prayers, our teachings, and the foundation of who we are. Their love carries us through life and reminds us where we come from. No matter where life takes you both, the bond between siblings will always remain. 🎓

The Bear Dance has always been more than an event, it’s a feeling. A time of new beginnings, reconnecting, laughing, visiting, dancing, and honoring who we are as Ute people. It’s is my hope that you see the beauty and spirit of our Ute people through my lens. Thank you!!

My little daughter has been waiting for this time of year. Every day as we drove by the Bear Dance grounds, she’d watch and get more and more excited as it all came together. And now just like that, the Randlett Bear Dance is in the books. I’m grateful I was able to capture a few moments from today, moments that reflect our Ute culture and our resilience. I’m excited to edit the rest of the photos. The Randlett Bear dance album will soon be completed. 🐻
