Graduating alongside your twin is something truly special, growing up side by side and reaching this milestone together with your family cheering you on every step of the way. Having Grandma there makes it even more meaningful. In our Ute culture, our grandmothers are so important. They are our strength, our prayers, our teachings, and the foundation of who we are. Their love carries us through life and reminds us where we come from. No matter where life takes you both, the bond between siblings will always remain. 🎓

The Bear Dance has always been more than an event, it’s a feeling. A time of new beginnings, reconnecting, laughing, visiting, dancing, and honoring who we are as Ute people. It’s is my hope that you see the beauty and spirit of our Ute people through my lens. Thank you!!

My little daughter has been waiting for this time of year. Every day as we drove by the Bear Dance grounds, she’d watch and get more and more excited as it all came together. And now just like that, the Randlett Bear Dance is in the books. I’m grateful I was able to capture a few moments from today, moments that reflect our Ute culture and our resilience. I’m excited to edit the rest of the photos. The Randlett Bear dance album will soon be completed. 🐻

This summer, my kids have some exciting opportunities ahead. They will be attending a 30 day wrestling camp and will be traveling with their wrestling club to learn on an international level.
With graduation announcement season, Bear Dance, and family events right around the corner, I’m hosting a photography fundraiser to help support their travel expenses. My kids will also be helping during sessions as my assistants, learning along the way and being part of the experience.

Throwback to one of my favorite sessions, my baby’s 5th birthday photo shoot. With barely enough time, we chased the sun home for good light and it was worth it. She is the wild in my life and these photos capture her perfectly. It’s hard to believe she’ll be 8 this year. Time really does fly!
