☀️ Summer is here, and if there's one thing I've learned as both a photographer and a parent, it's this:

Always take the picture.

Take the photo at the lake. Take the photo on vacation. Take the photo of the messy popsicle face, the backyard adventures, and the kids who seem to grow an inch overnight.

Life moves fast. Summers feel endless when we're in them, but before we know it, another school year begins and these moments become memories.

What Happens During a Family Session With Me? 📷

One of the biggest things parents worry about before a photo session is this:
“What if my kids don’t cooperate?”

The truth is—kids don’t need to be perfect for beautiful photos.

When you arrive at your session, we take our time. There’s no rushing and no pressure. I let kids warm up to me, explore a little, and just be themselves. Sometimes the best photos happen in those in-between moments—when your child is giggling, leaning into you, or running back for a hug.

I also encourage kids to bring something that makes them feel comfortable, like a favorite toy or their blankie. Kids love showing off the things that are special to them, and it often helps them relax and open up in front of the camera. Plus, it’s really sweet to look back years later and see the little things that meant so much to them at the time.

I’ll gently guide your family so you never feel awkward, but the goal is always the same: capturing genuine connection and real smiles, not a ton of stiff poses.
