This page has been quiet. I have done a few sessions of client portrait work, which I haven’t posted, but this one I did of my daughter I will share. We usually do her dance pictures in the studio, but this time I wanted to try something different.
This was taken in a disc golf field behind her old school, right across the road from us.
We literally decided at golden hour that we were going to do a few pics, so we had no time to travel anywhere. 😆

We’ve had rain since last night. Rain! In February! But then all of a sudden this morning the raindrops turned to snow and we got a coating of heavy, wet snow.

I thought it was time for a proper looking photo of me. I considered asking hubby to shoot me, but his skills don’t extend to photography. 😆
I couldn’t bring any of my studio strobes or backdrops when we moved, so I found a big window with some nice light, popped my chair and a houseplant in front of the wall and plonked myself on it. My camera was on a tripod and I set it to snap a shot every 10 seconds, 10 times on a row. Repeated this process about half a dozen times and hey presto! Professional selfie. 😜 👋

I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted on this account. If you follow my other (instagram) accounts or .phil.kids you’ll probably know that we’ve moved to the USA! 😃
I was just getting into my groove and taking clients again in the 12 months before we left Australia but I’m not sure when I’ll start that up again over here. We’re settling in well and getting through the house projects one at a time. I haven’t pulled out my portrait lenses yet though.
I have been shooting wildlife for myself whenever we see any, which is kind of a lot because we’ve been trying to get out and about and explore the trails. I always take my camera with a 400mm lens.
Last night the light was just too pretty to not take a couple of portrait photos so I backed up 50m (so I could get some of her in the frame!) and took this on my 400mm. 🌅 🌻

I was honoured to have Jessica Pickering and her coach Brett Austine in my studio just before Christmas. Jessica is a trampoline gymnast who represented Australia at the Tokyo Olympics!
