We showed up to this session and there were sooo many college grads everywhere also having their photos taken. The compositions I wanted to create were unavailable at the moment because of crowds and I was slightly freaking out in my head. How could I pull this one off?!
This client was AMAZING and we both had to exercise some patience but damn... it all came together!! Literally teared up when she sent me this:
“I’m sooo thankful you saw my vision and made it a reality! Love love love and omg you’re my hype girl.”

Mid morning session with full sunshine!☀️
Shooting within a 1-2 hour window for “perfect light”
Is limiting. I like being able to create in any scenario and this one was fun! Mom and Dad both said they often wear their sunglasses (me too!) so we kept it real lifestyle and rolled with it.

My third baby is turning 5 in 2 weeks and I’m running through her baby and toddler years in my head hoping I documented enough. Did I photograph enough of her chubby cheeks, write down her cute little sayings, and get her silly smile when my husband would say “show us your shark teeth!” It all goes by too fast🥺 when I document these sessions for clients, I always ask my clients if there’s anything in particular they want photographed. If they are unsure, I lean into my mama heart and see moments unfold that I believe will mean the world to them years from now.

The Capitol and surrounding area still ranks as one of my favorite D.C. locations for sessions! The white architecture for backdrops is timeless and this time of year, you can always count on blossomed trees or beautiful landscaped areas with flowers.

Another fav? Warmer weather that allows us to put babies in rompers with their chunky legs showing and ditching the socks and shoes to show those little toes!

Daffodils covered their backyard, sunshine poured through the windows, and the big siblings were oh so excited to show off their new baby.
The mom pointed out some framed photos adorning their walls from previous photo sessions with me and I couldn’t help but smile. Seeing their memories preserved and showcased was so special. Being welcomed into your lives to document what really matters in life will always be such an honor💛

Always getting questions on when is the right time for a newborn session.. Forget what you read online of a “10-14 day window” and just do what feels right for your family. It’s a delicate time of adjustment and not everyone is ready for photos. This baby was around 10 weeks😊 When I saw the☀️ streaming into this playroom I knew this was the spot I wanted to run most of their session. Thankful for families who go with the flow and trust my process.. even if it seems like an odd spot! It makes creating that much more fun💛

✨SEVEN!✨

Blair bear.. my silly and highly spirited child. The one who is a force and keeps us all on our toes. Her best self can be found at an amusement park riding roller coasters on repeat, sipping frozen lemonades, and having a group of family and friends with her. Her brain goes a mile a minute and there’s always a trail of creative Blair experiments aka messes around the house. Can’t find glue for a craft project? No worries, the toothpaste will do! 😬 Currently loving Pho as meal of choice, 20 questions game at bedtime, listening to boxcar children on her yoto player, Taylor Swift music on repeat, and anything purple + pink.. if it glitters then even better!

Sliding in a preview of a few Christmas minis on the last day of December! I always hold off on posting because I want to respect the surprise of the Christmas card for so many of you. I got to be in on a pregnancy announcement during one of the sessions and it was SO COOL to be trusted with this secret😍 This second annual Christmas mini event was WONDERFUL! Already thinking of how we can top it next year.

Just when I thought I would be relaxing during my much needed Christmas break, FLU A came to my house to say hi and hangout🥴
I’ve been caring for my sweet Bria and nursing her back to health. Lots of pomegranate seeds and blueberries to help her immune system fight, sleep, popsicles, and lying on the couch watching movies together. And for me..
I’m doing all the sauna sessions with red light and downing vitamin C.. cause mom can’t get sick this time of year!
