Today we got to exercise the long standing moral tradition of assisting another vessel in distress. This family's engine quit while heading up river on Lake Taneycomo in Forsyth. The wind had pushed them into the thick seaweed along the north shore near Edgewater Beach Marina. Once pulled from the bank, we escorted the boat in tandem back to Empire Park. Emergency crews were waiting for their arrival. Never miss the opportunity to assist another boater. One day you may be in need of the same kind of assistance.

PSA: Don't ever allow anyone to ride on the bow of a moving boat like this! By the time you realize someone fell off they have probably already sustained severe injuries. According to U.S. Coast Guard boating accident reports, approximately 150 to 200 people are injured and 30 to 45 people are killed by boat propellers in the United States annually.
