I thought Friday at I-96 Speedway was going to be a pretty normal night.

Then the full moon got involved.

Sprint cars averaging nearly 99 mph, a red flag, EMS, a return to victory lane nearly two years in the making, another victory lane backflip, and way too many photos on my memory cards.

Yesterday ended up being about a lot more than just showing off a race truck.

Seeing kids light up climbing through the #81, hearing families ask questions about local racing, and watching it click for some of the younger girls that Tracie Robinson with JMR Racing is actually the one driving the truck at Owosso Speedway was honestly really cool to see.

I wrote a little blog about the day and why moments like that matter so much for local racing. 🏁
