Happy World Photography Day! 📸❤️

I don’t remember exactly when a camera stopped being something I simply picked up and became something that felt like a part of me.

But somewhere along the way, photography became so much more than taking pretty pictures.

It became freezing the tiny details of a newborn before they change. Capturing the belly laughs between siblings. Watching a high school senior light up when they see themselves the way everyone who loves them already does. Photographing grandparents surrounded by the family they built. Celebrating weddings, anniversaries, first birthdays, growing families, athletes, businesses, friendships—and so many ordinary moments that someday won’t feel ordinary at all.

Over the years, I’ve taken thousands and thousands of photographs. I’ve learned new cameras, new lighting, new techniques, and probably spent more hours in Photoshop than I’d ever care to count. 😂

But the most important thing photography has taught me has nothing to do with a camera.

People matter. Their stories matter. And photographs become more valuable with time.

There is still something magical about looking through that little viewfinder and knowing that, with one click, I get to preserve a moment that will never happen exactly that way again.

And somehow, incredibly, this thing I love became my job.

So on World Photography Day, I just want to say thank you to every single person who has stepped in front of my camera, trusted me with your family, brought me your brand-new babies, your graduating seniors, your crazy kiddos, your wedding days, your athletes, your pets, your milestones—and your memories.

You’ve allowed me to do something I genuinely love for a living.

And after all these years, I still get excited when I pick up my camera. ❤️

Destiny's senior session tonight was everything. The energy, the confidence, the way she moved through every look like she owns it — because she does. From turquoise and Navajo pearls to that rich blue lace, this girl brought her whole self to the studio and it showed in every frame.

This is exactly why I love senior sessions — it's not about a stiff pose for the yearbook. It's about capturing who you are right now, at this exact moment, before it's gone.

Hi, we're Kelly and Kayla — and weddings are some of our favorite things to shoot. Between the two of us, we've got the experience to catch every big moment and the eye to catch the quiet ones too: the look before you walk down the aisle, the hand squeeze during vows, your grandma crying happy tears in the back row.

Six months old and already stealing hearts at the studio today! 🩷 This sweet girl came dressed in the most adorable vintage dress from her mama's closet, plus the cutest little bib overalls — be still my heart. Add in the sweetest bows and that gorgeous grin, and I don't think I stopped smiling the entire session.

Half birthdays are seriously the best. There's nothing like that perfect mix of sweet baby joy and big personality — and this little one had both in spades.

MADALYN. JUST. WENT. OFF. 🔥📸

Kicking off the Class of 2027 senior season with an absolute showstopper tonight in downtown Floyd, and wow — she came ready to WORK. That golden light? Unreal. Her energy? Unmatched. We turned every corner of downtown Floyd into a runway and I am still buzzing.

Senior szn 2027, you have been OFFICIALLY put on notice. If this is session one, buckle up. 🚨✨

The sweetest 50th Anniversary family session! 💛
Last night, I got to head back home to my hometown and spend the evening with my mom’s best friend and her wonderful family. There is something so special about capturing generations together—grandparents surrounded by their children and grandchildren, sharing so much love, laughter, and history.
We even recreated a few priceless photos, which made the evening even more meaningful! Add in gorgeous light, lots of fun, and plenty of laughter, and it was truly the perfect session.
