Sunday, Sherry and I, attended the Highland Games, in McKinney. Our niece’s husband, Jacob Langworthy, was a participant. This is a slo-mo video of his effort in the small hammer throw. He got 2nd place, in this event, as well as overall.

I drove over to Lake Grapevine, today, to see if there was any bird activity...absolutely no birds. So I drove over to the pond, in the Wellington subdivisions of Flower Mound. When we lived in this area, we used to take the grandkids down to this pond to feed the birds. Here are some shots I got today.

Wednesday evening, I set my Nikon D850 to capture a 30 second capture, every 35 seconds. it took 279 shots before the battery ran out. I then processed the photos in Adobe Premiere and this is the resulting time-lapse.

It shows how the earth rotates at an angle with the Milky Way core.

I put my 70-200 lens on my Z9, last night and put it on my Ioptron SkyGuider Pro star tracker. I captured 42 images, then aligned them in Photoshop layers, and then set them all to the lighten mode and then focus blended them. I then played with the levels and got this image of the Pleiades star cluster.

Last night, I was invited to St. Olaf's Church to capture star images. I brought my brand new Nikon Z9 to try it out. It's not the same as my D850. I thought I'd set it to take a photo every 65 seconds with a 60 second exposure for 100 exposures. Unfortunately, I didn't get the 100 exposures correct...it was set at 1. So, I wasted over an hour's time, with the camera doing nothing. I fixed the problem and set it off again. This is an amalgamation of 84 photos set to lighten mode.

Anthony E. Rojas and I were out there until around 2:30 AM this morning capturing images.

There was a lot of light pollution coming from the Northeast.

After Grandfather Mountain, Friday, we headed to the Linville Gorge Wilderness, Wiseman's View Scenic Overlook. The ride, out to the viewing area, was extremely rough. It was like a wild roller coaster ride. But the views were worth the trip both ways.
