Travel photographs are memories. You look at a picture and it conjures up thoughts, feelings, and smells that take you back to a long forgotten place. I think it’s important we all spend a little time improving our travel photography.
Here are some tips to improve your travel photografer skills:

1: Wake up early, stay out late. Light is the most important ingredient for great photography and soft, warm, morning light creates amazing images.

Sunrise isn’t the only time to catch good light. Sunsets are also. The hour after sunrise and the hour before sunset are nicknamed “golden hours” because of their soft, warm tones and eye-pleasing shadows. “Blue hour”, is the hour after sunset

2: Pack just what you need. Important if you are planing to be all day walking.

3: Research the location.

4: Don’t forget to charge your batteries.

5: Lear about rules of the thirds (we will explained it on a different article). Basically, the Rule of Thirds will help you create more balanced compositions. Imagine breaking an image down into thirds horizontally and vertically, so it’s split into different sections.

6: REMEMBER to keep the horizontal straight.

7: Experiment with composition (we will explained it on a different article). Basically, Try with different angles, try shooting from different distances too. Start with a wide shot, then a mid-range version, and finally, get up-close and personal. Never be satisfied with your first idea for an image!

8: have fun and enjoy! It doesn’t have to be stressful.

Travel Photography:
Piazza San Marco, Venice, Italy.

It was deluged this week with the highest tidewaters in more than 50 years and here is a night shoot from this emblematic destination.

4 simple Night Shoot Tips:

1. Get a tripod. if you don't have one, find a study objet to rest your camera on.
2. Shoot in Manual mode.
3. Get a remote trigger, if not take the pictures using the 10 second timer of your camera.
4. Set you camera to f/16. If you're shooting anything with small bright lights you will get the stars in all those lights.
