How to Choose the Right Location for Your Photos

Your location sets the entire mood of your session, before you even show up.

Want moody + dramatic?
Think dark tones, shadows, urban alleys, concrete walls, old buildings, or overcast skies. These spots add depth, emotion, and a little edge.

Want bright, warm, summery vibes?
Open fields, tall grass, wildflowers, golden light, country roads, or anywhere the sun can do its thing. Soft colors = timeless, glowy images.

Want soft + romantic?
Nature parks, trees, water, neutral backgrounds, and golden hour. Simple locations let the connection shine.

Want modern + bold?
City streets, textured walls, parking garages, stairwells...yes, really. Clean lines + movement = killer shots.

YOU DON'T NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT BEFORE BOOKING PHOTOS.

Read that again.

The MOST COMMON comments I get is "when I lose weight" "let me lose weight first" etc.

And, I'm here to tell you..

You don’t need to wait for a smaller number, a flatter stomach, or a “better” season of life. You are already worthy of being photographed exactly as you are, right now, in this moment.

Your kids don’t see your flaws. They see comfort. Safety. Home.
Your partner doesn’t see what you’re picking apart, they see the person they love.
And one day, you will look back at these photos and be so thankful you didn’t wait.

Life doesn’t pause while we try to become someone else.
Memories are happening now. Smiles, belly laughs, messy hair, tired eyes, and all.

Take the pictures. Be in the frame.

Why I photograph mothers the way I do

Because she was there too.

She’s usually the one fixing hair, wiping faces, calming nerves, packing snacks, and making sure everyone else looks and feels okay, all while quietly stepping out of the frame.

So many mothers only have selfies.
Or photos with their kids, taken quickly, arms stretched, never fully seen.

I photograph mothers the way I do because they deserve to be remembered, not just as the one behind the scenes, but as the heart of it all.

The way you hold them.
The way they lean into you.
The way you’re constantly on the go, yet still their safe place.
One day, your children won’t remember the mess or the chaos, they’ll remember you.
And they’ll want proof that you were there too.

That’s why I make sure you’re in the frame. 🤍

Why I’ll always capture the in-between moments

Because that’s where the real magic lives.

It’s in the candid laugh you didn’t know happened between you and your significant other.
The way your grandparents look at each other, a quiet, steady love that didn’t need to be posed, just lived.

I watch for the hand squeeze after a joke.
The way a mom instinctively fixes her child’s hair.
The side glance, the deep breath, the smile that comes when no one thinks the camera is watching.

Anyone can pose a picture.

But the in-between moments?
Those are the ones that feel like home years later
Those are the photos you’ll come back to when time moves fast, when people change, when you wish you could step back into a feeling instead of just remembering it.

Because one day, those small moments will mean everything, and you’ll be so thankful they were captured.

My sessions are games, movement, laughs, snacks, silly noises, and letting kids be kids. The magic happens in between the poses, not during them. From teaching them about the camera, to letting them shoot some pictures its always a blast!
