If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a MILLION times… TAKE THE FAMILY PICTURES. 🤍

I know it can be stressful. It’s stressful putting everyone’s outfits together. It’s stressful getting everyone dressed, out the door, and there on time. And when you have littles, it can feel impossible trying to get that “perfect” picture.

But mannnn… is it worth it.

I’m using Martha’s family as an example. Last year when we took these photos, it had already been a long day. Martha and Jordan had worked all day, the girls had been at school, everyone was tired, and there may have been a few little fits thrown along the way. 😂

I’m sure when we finished, Martha left wondering if we even got any pictures she would love.

But that’s where your photographer comes in. 🤍

Not every photo has to be perfectly posed. Not everyone has to be looking at the camera. Sometimes we move, we play, we run around, we take breaks, and we let the babies be babies. I LOVE getting down on their level, playing with them, and doing whatever I can to make it fun.

Martha and I were texting this morning, looking back at these photos with so much love and admiration. And all I could think was, thank the Lord we captured this little moment in time for her family.

Because time is so precious, and it goes way too fast.

One day, the little ones who wouldn’t sit still will be grown. The tiny hands won’t be so tiny. The chaos you’re living in right now will become the days you wish you could go back and visit for just a minute.

So let this be your sign: take the family pictures. Even if there are tears — yours or the kids’. 😂 Even if everything doesn’t go according to plan. Even if it feels a little chaotic.

I promise, they’re worth it.

And I’ll do everything I can to make the experience fun, easy, and something your family can actually enjoy. 🤍

Hey everyone! 🩷

Emails were sent out regarding Fall Mini Sessions for tomorrow and Sunday, but it looks like the times were incorrect on several of the reminder emails. I’m so sorry for any confusion! Rest assured- if you booked a specific time- it has not changed.

I’m shooting all day today, but as soon as I get home this evening, I’ll send out an email confirming everyone’s correct session time. You can expect that email around 9 PM tonight.

What should you wear??

I always recommend solid colored clothing (no busy/loud designs or patterns) and lighter colors. These pictures will be taken close to grass and large oak trees- there is already a ton of green. I do not recommend wearing any green. 🩷

Let’s be realistic for a minute… family pictures can be stressful. Especially with little ones.

Getting everyone fed, dressed, and out the door on time. Hoping everyone is in a good mood, not tired or hungry. Trying to make sure the kids look cute while somehow making yourself look put together too. It’s no small task.

This session? It was HOT. The babies wanted to run, play, and explore—not sit still and smile at a camera. And honestly, who could blame them? I imagine Logan and Altman probably drove home wondering if we even got a single good photo.

But just look at these images.

They’re beautiful because they tell the truth about this season of life. They capture little personalities, tiny giggles, curious faces, the way little hands reach for Mom and Dad, and all of those fleeting moments you’ll miss one day. Those are the memories worth preserving.

Perfectly posed photos have their place, but they don’t always tell your family’s story. That’s why I love moving with your family instead of expecting your children to sit perfectly still. The magic is often found in the in-between moments.

So let this be your sign to book the family photos.

Will getting everyone ready probably be a little stressful? Yes.

Will your kids cooperate every second? Probably not.

Will it be worth it when you have these memories to look back on years from now?

Every single time. 🤍
