09/20/2026
2026 has already been one for the books, and as I prepare for holiday season, I wanted to post a few things that have been on my heart. 🤍 I was looking at my gallery count this morning, and I’ve delivered over 100 galleries since January. I truly am grateful for the privilege it is to capture so many important moments for families. I really feel like I have the best job in the world!
With that being said, this has also been the most mentally and physically taxing year for me as I’ve navigated this job in the depths of a really hard postpartum season. My sweet baby on my hip is one of my greatest joys, but she really only ever wants her mama—she is just now allowing my mama to hold her, and if you know my mama, you know she’s a baby magnet.🤣. I attribute that to her first four months being full of colic, and I truly couldn’t put her down, but hey, we are approaching her first birthday in October, and she’s becoming Miss Independent now that she can get around on her own.
I really am thanking God for sustaining me for the last year. Sanctification is an ongoing process, and I truly believe when I met Jesus at 10 years old, I really did meet Him, and in each season, He has sustained me. The more babies I’ve added to my crew, I’ve felt a need to ask Him for His help and His mercies even more. Thank God, He provides for us daily. My story of needing Jesus is day after day. In His loving kindness, He gave me three beautiful girls to raise, and motherhood is truly a blessing, even on the hard days.
My girls and Hogan are my greatest gifts on this side of Heaven, and I want to be present for all of them in each moment. So, as I did in 2021 with my teaching job, I’m restructuring my work life a bit! Same job, but I am giving myself more time with my babies!
I love my career as a photographer. I need to keep this job in this economy lol, BUT my capacity for taking on sessions is getting more and more limited in order to best serve you. So, 2026 fall + moving into 2027 will look a little different than my normal.
I’ll be posting my holiday collection tomorrow with the majority of my mini sessions taking place in October so that I can get all holiday galleries sent out in time for Black Friday card sales. Think fall family portraits that can be dressed up with a touch of holiday colors. I did Christmas last year in the Fall due to my due date, and truly, the weather was prettier, and I enjoyed being able to take my time on galleries and deliver the best of the best.
And if you’ve booked with me this year and had to endure my longest turnaround I’ve ever had of an average of 4-6 weeks for sessions, please know I extend my greatest gratitude lol. Despite my best efforts and staying up until 1-2 AM most nights, I am still playing catch up from getting behind right after having Lucy lol. It’s the snowball that keeps rolling downhill on playing catch up 🤣. I try to keep things affordable which means taking on a few more sessions, but again, 2027 will be different, including my pricing so that I can focus and serve everyone to my greatest capabilities. I do not want to be spread thin, and I really want that turnaround to be 3 weeks max. I’ve barely increased my session pricing besides weddings since starting in 2021, and it’s time for that to be bumped up just a little (not much I promise) 🤍.
So, all of that to say, thank you. My priorities had gotten out of line, and as I push them all back where they belong, God, then Hogan, and then my babies, and lastly my job! I want to serve you well, and I look forward to getting to enjoy hanging out with some of you this holiday season for what I am able to take on! ☺️
If you want to set a reminder for tomorrow, here’s what my Holiday Collection looks like. You could wear holiday colors for any of these to make them more Christmas(y) or keep them as fall! My goal is to provide you with timeless images for your Christmas card, but I do not want to decorate a huge set this year as last year did me in 😮💨🤣.
October 18- The Harper House (Killen AL)
November 15- Downtown HSV near a pretty brown brick Church with iron gates
November 21- Heirloom Minis that include 2 free prints mailed to your home (perfect for grandparent Christmas gifts)
Possibly a mystery date Home On Lee Street Wedding & Event Venue when my favorite venue owner ever sends me her Christmas set 🤪
