As many of you may know, my little sister was in a major car accident on Tuesday (8/11) on her way home from school. She had to be life-flighted to UMMC. She was intubated, given blood, and had a chest tube put in for a collapsed lung during the flight. That night, we found out that she had a small subarachnoid hemorrhage, a fractured C2 vertebrae, a broken radius, a broken nose, along with countless other cuts and bruises.
Since then, she has been in the PICU. She was extubated yesterday (Wed. 8/12) and had multiple CT scans to monitor the brain bleed - which has stayed the same and not gotten any bigger. The fracture in her C2 turned out to be a chip which means she won’t need surgery, she will wear a neck brace for 6 weeks. And her nose will heal on its own.
She is currently in surgery for her wrist break. Before being taken back for surgery, she was becoming more and more alert. She was opening her eyes and talking a little bit, moving around and acknowledging people which is so amazing. We will know much more after she recovers from surgery, but we have a long road ahead of us.

Jordyn is 16 years old, and just started her senior year at Florence High School late July. She took extra classes to be able to graduate early and she is on the powerlifting team! Many of you may know her as my mini me! She has helped me with sessions and weddings as my second shooter and she absolutely loves it! She loves all types of music from any decade (we always have music contests on the way home from weddings)!! She loves spending time with her family!
She is such an incredible kid and truly has a heart of gold!! Everyone who knows her, loves her!
