There are some sessions you photograph that just stay with you🤎

This Breckenridge maternity session is definitely one of them.

Fall in Colorado. The mountains. That golden glow. And a beautiful mama carrying her baby in one of the most breathtaking places imaginable. 🍂🏔️

I’m pretty sure I could photograph sessions like this forever.

And now I’m curious…

Sometimes, I literally see the world in black & white. 🖤🤍

As a photographer, I’m always looking through a lens, even when my professional camera isn’t in my hands.

My professional camera was tucked away at home. Sometimes I leave my "big camera" behind because I think, "I'm just going to watch tonight."... Then it never fails, I can't help it! I still take lots of pictures even just with my iPhone. So this night was no big camera. No elaborate setup. Just moments happening in front of me… and the inability to let the moments fly by without capturing them.

The bull rider's adrenaline while waiting for his turn.
The announcer bringing the voice that keeps the whole place moving.
The little ones watching from the fence.
The fans caught up in the excitement.
Little cowpokes doing big cowboy and cowgirl things.
The bull haulers behind the chutes, helping riders get set before eight seconds of chaos.
The quiet moments between the action.

And somehow, stripping away the color made me notice all the things we might have missed.

The expressions. The anticipation. The grit. The people. The little moments that make a rodeo more than just what happens in the arena.

Maybe that's the funny thing about being a photographer.

Sometimes I don't need my professional camera to photograph something beautifully.

Sometimes I just need to *see it.* 🖤🤍

This is what adventure looks like. 📸🏕️🎸

Dusty trails, loaded Jeeps, overland campsites, live music, and the kind of smiles that tell you people are exactly where they want to be.

The Ozark Mountain Overland Invasion at J3 at the Gap was full of moments like these!

Some of the best moments are the ones you don’t plan ✨

Sweet little Emmie Jean was out enjoying brunch with her beautiful mama and family at Rapp's Barren Brewing during their flower bar collaboration with Rockin Roses when we locked eyes on the sidewalk… and I had an idea…

In true Ashley Rose fashion, what started as a quick hello turned into a full-blown mini toddler photo shoot and branding session with Rockin Roses right there on the sidewalk! Of course we have to include Hannah Marie’s modeling skills were on point!

Okkkkk you twisted my arm! Here is another round of glimpses from Saturday! The grit and heart of Saturday was seen and felt way beyond the arena. It was written across every equine and human face. In the anticipation behind the gate, the slow walks back to the trailer, the trips to the water spicket, the cheering and laughter on the bleachers, the fun that was had by all.
