Wildflower Seasonal Sessions are going live tomorrow! 😍🌼🌻🌸

These sessions will be in August at hopefully the peak of wildflower season! They will also be my only Northern AZ sessions until next year! More fall seasonal mini sessions will be released in the next few weeks, but they will all be down here in the valley - so if you’re looking specifically for up north, now is your chance!

Tomorrow, to kick it all off, I will be releasing my first annual Childhood Seasonal Sessions!

These will be done in studio (because I know no one wants to be taking photos in the 110+ weather 😅). They are the perfect opportunity to capture this season of childhood for your littles. I actually debated calling them Personality Sessions because the goal is a plain white backdrop and gorgeous light to let their little personalities shine! 🤩

I have these photos of my girls from last year and let me tell you they are my absolute favorite thing. WAAAY better than those cheesy school photos, something I'm actually proud to hang on my wall (and I do have them on wall!)

The month of May is a BUSY time of year around here.

This week alone we have the last week of school, Rory has a spirit dress up day every day, Reagan has two dance recitals, and we have Memorial Day celebrations to plan for this weekend 😅

I am definitely a type A mom who has lists on lists and I’m usually pretty good at keeping it all together, but phew.. this month really humbles me and reminds me that no one can do it all.

Time to make some lists, prioritize, and hope that next month things finally slow down (ya right) 😂

I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to this super special wedding I photographed this weekend… but I can say that FINALLY Hannah and Lucille got the wedding day they deserved 🙌🏻

Their original wedding was supposed to be April 2020, and didn’t happen for obvious reasons 😅 so they went through the painstaking process, like so many couples, of having to reschedule everything.

The thing was, Hannah’s amazing mom, Teenuh, had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Some of you might remember, in October 2020 you all helped me raise funds to be able to fly out and photograph their ceremony, which I know both they and I will be forever grateful for 🤍

Friday, they finallyyy got to have their reception and celebrate with their family and friends and it was a day full of laughs, tears, and everyone belting out ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ at the top of their lungs in honor of the beloved Teenuh 💖

I saw something recently called “The Celebration Formula” that I thought was too genius not to share with Mother’s Day coming up (especially if you’re anything like me, with high expectations and not always the best communication about them… oops 🙈)

The key is to answer the following three questions:
1. What you want to do
2. What you want to receive
3. What you want to eat

For me that looks like: Doing something fun with my family (we’ll actually be at the San Diego zoo on Mother’s Day, so that was easy this year haha). Receiving sentimental things from the kids and Dustin already surprised me with an early gift. And I would love to eat some brunch with mimosas 😉🥂

Maybe your celebration formula looks something like: You want to sleep in and relax all day. You want to receive a handwritten note of appreciation. And you want to eat your favorite Chinese take out.

There’s no right or wrong way to do it and I think it leaves enough room for some surprises and thoughtfulness while still ending holiday disappointment!
