Been a while since I've posted over here but looking to get better about it. Bighorn sheep down at Canyon lake a few weeks ago. Probably going to be hard to see them down at the lakes edge for a while now that we are getting rain here in Arizona.

Probably one of my favorite photos ever, most people think it's a painting. Taken in the Serengeti in 2020 during the great migration, this is one of six shots that actually happened before the herd turned away from our jeep. Head on over to YouTube and check out the 20 second clip I found from just after this shot was taken. https://youtube.com/shorts/crZi4-glOuw?feature=share

Been working on some other things today, looking thru pictures and trying to find videos that go with pictures I have for sale. This male lion in the sunset of Kenya's Masai Mara will be the first. From the rain forests of Ecuador comes this Emerald tree boa. Our guide had never come across one so this was a pretty exciting night for everyone.

This was my first try at macro photography and throw in darkness made for an interesting experience.

Hard to believe it's been almost a year since I was in Alaska with these amazing brown bears. This bear is named crimp, for the crimp in her left ear. We spent most of the time with her and her one cub.

Besides a constant search for food, mother bears are constantly on look out for male bears as they will kill the cubs.

Most of my bear photos are not shot with extreme telephoto zoom. Most of the times we were within 20 to 30 feet as they fed.

In February I was lucky enough to be able to make it to Wapusk national park to look for mother polar bears emerge from their dens with cubs. This particular mother had triplets which is pretty rare. Mom has to be in very good health for triplets to happen.

At this point the mother polar bear hasn't eaten anything since approximately May of the previous year so her priority is to make it to the bay and get out on the ice. She can only go so fast with little ones in tow. We were lucky enough to spend 3 days with this family before she disappeared into the expanse of white and up towards the bay.

Been making a push to go thru my photos from Chile. One of the many pumas we came across during our time specifically looking for them.

There is an abundant source of guanacos for the pumas and their interest in humans is almost non existent.

Pumas are seen as a source of tourism dollars in Torres del Paine whereas across the border in Argentina they are usually shot by farmers.
