Saturday, May 23rd ❤️ Mile 780ish

Today we stood on top of Forester Pass. Snow under our feet, giant Sierra peaks all around us, and smiles the entire way up. After weeks of desert heat and endless miles, it felt unreal to finally be up here together.

These are the moments you dream about before the trail even begins. Laughing with friends at 13,000 feet, soaking in views that don’t even look real, and realizing this crazy adventure is actually happening.

Forever grateful for this trail and the people sharing it with me.

Summited Mount Whitney — the highest peak in the lower 48 states at 14,505 feet. The hike starts in the dark, climbs through thin air and endless switchbacks, and rewards you with views that make every painful step worth it. For PCT hikers, it’s an optional side quest from Crabtree Meadows, but for many of us, it becomes one of the most unforgettable moments on trail. Standing on that summit surrounded by the Sierra felt surreal.

The Sierra already feels completely different from the desert. Bigger mountains, freezing nights, endless water, and somehow I already saw a bear on day one. Grateful to be out here with an awesome tramily and excited for what’s ahead. Daily updates might slow down a bit with the limited service, but I’ll keep sharing when I can.

Day 45. Zero day in Kennedy Meadows.

Cold beers, good food, nonstop laughs, a fresh haircut, and one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Huge thanks to B Dubs for helping us recharge before heading into the Sierra.

The desert section is officially behind us. Next up: snow, river crossings, high passes, and hopefully summiting Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the lower 48.

Service is going to be limited out there, so you might not hear from me for a while. Hopefully the next update comes from the other side of the mountains.
