Plot twist: we cast ourselves as the leads. 🌊🎬

Best friends and business partners for years, but for one foggy afternoon at Haystack Rock, we played two people falling for each other on the Oregon coast. Wind in the hair. Hands reaching back across the sand. A glance straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel, minus the rowboat.

Why? Because we’re storytellers first. The same two people can look playful, nostalgic, or achingly romantic, depending on who’s directing the scene and what they know to look for. This was our love letter to that craft, and a little preview of the intention we bring to every couple we photograph. 🤍

In modern times, reconnecting with our roots rarely happens by accident. Traditions fade quietly when life gets busy, and heirlooms can spend decades folded away in a cedar chest. 🤍
Choosing to bring them back into the light, to wear them, honor them, and photograph them where your story began, is a beautiful act of preservation. It’s how a culture stays not only remembered, but lived. ✨

At sunrise, Raquel did exactly that in her mother’s wedding sari. These portraits will stand proud for generations, always whispering one simple truth: family and culture are eternal.

Hello, October. 🍂
In the Lowcountry, fall arrives quietly. No grand parade of foliage, just marsh grass turning to gold, Spanish moss catching the late light, and evenings finally cool enough for a cashmere wrap. The sunsets linger a little longer, the glow softens, and if you ask us, it’s the most romantic light of the entire year.

Some places announce themselves the second you walk in. Starrett House, a historic Victorian bed and breakfast on the Washington coast, is one of them. Antique draperies, sitting chairs that have heard a hundred years of good conversation, restored rooms that feel like a storybook, and custom teas blended in house to bring the whole cozy mood into your cup.
We photographed it for their branding and product photography, and here's what we love most about it: branding does not have to be cold, stiff, or staged in a studio. The right photos tell the story of you and make people feel what it's like to step into your world.

Two lead photographers. Two perspectives. One moment. ✨

You might see two photographers at a wedding and think, “Okay, two cameras. Got it.”

But there’s a little more magic happening behind the scenes.

Traditionally, when a wedding calls for multiple photographers, there’s one lead photographer alongside an associate photographer. It’s a tried-and-true model, and there are plenty of talented associate photographers doing incredible work.

But we wanted to build something a little different.

At Moon & Palm, you don’t get one lead photographer + someone brought in to assist.

You get TWO lead photographers.

Two artists with the same level of experience.
Two creative minds making decisions in real time.
Two people who have worked side-by-side for years and can practically read each other’s minds.

Which means while one of us is capturing the moment from one angle…

The other is already moving into position for another.

While one is photographing the big, sweeping scene…

The other is catching the little in-between glance you didn’t even know happened.

Same second. Same story. Completely different perspective.

And because we work together constantly, we aren’t stopping to figure out who is doing what. We’re anticipating, communicating, adjusting, and moving seamlessly through the day together.

That means more angles.
More moments.
More of the story.

Not because the traditional lead + associate model doesn’t work- but because we believe there’s something incredibly special about having two photographers who are equally invested in the vision, equally capable of leading, and deeply familiar with the way the other works.

Because your wedding day isn’t just one story happening from one perspective.

It’s hundreds of little stories unfolding all at once.

She traded the adjustment table for the bar cart, and honestly? We’re obsessed.

Meet Nectar & Beck, Charleston’s newest mobile cocktail (and mocktail!) bar, founded by the endlessly stylish Lexi.

Chiropractor by trade, hostess-with-the-mostest by calling.
For her studio branding session we went full color-story: a custom chartreuse backdrop, that unmistakable red hair, and a model couple in full wedding attire so you could practically taste the toast. 🥂

New to the market, unmistakably herself, exactly our kind of brand.

Our clients trust us with some of life’s most precious moments; and we don’t take that trust lightly. 🤍

At Moon & Palm, your privacy is always a priority. As photographers, we have a responsibility not only to create beautiful imagery, but to be thoughtful about where, how, and why those images are shared.

With the growing use of publicly posted images to train generative AI-and the evolving legal landscape surrounding AI-generated imagery of children- we’ve made the decision to no longer publicly share identifiable images of children’s faces.

This doesn’t mean we’ll stop documenting the magic of your family. It simply means we’ll be more intentional about how those memories enter the public eye. We’ll continue finding the most beautiful, creative ways to tell your story while honoring the people who trusted us to tell it.

Your memories belong to you. Your children deserve privacy. And protecting both will always matter more to us than a post, a portfolio image, or a little extra engagement. 🌙🌴
