GDA to the Rescue in Shelby Township!
A realtor I used to work with back in the booking company days reached out to me after a different photographer did a less than stellar job on this property. I asked to see the photos so I could understand what we were dealing with. It wouldn't be ethical to share the other photos without the other shooter's knowledge or permission so I'll describe what was going on in those other photos:
Poorly thought out, overly busy compositions. This was the most prevalent issue. It was hard to tell what the focus of several of the images actually was due to the framing and the inclusion of intrusive foreground elements. Improperly popped flashes in almost every room led to unnatural hard shadows and color casts. Kitchen shots were often positioned so low that you could see the undersides of the cabinets (that's a no-no). A close-up of the kitchen island featured a beautiful center focus on the trash can! A detail shot of the living room fireplace had two oversized recliners blocking it. The list goes on and on. The whole shoot just reeked of "I don't care, I just want to get in, get out, and get your money."
That is unacceptable and not how I operate.
This was a high-value property and deserved to be treated that way. I moved a lot of furniture at that house to get the shots we needed to emphasize all of the great features on offer and used modern HDR techniques with AI editing to get detailed, naturalistic finishes in the final photos.
I just heard from the realtor last night--they're PENDING SALE now! A great turnaround from a rough spot that I'm happy to have helped make happen. 😎📸
I have no doubt that the other shooter probably charged less than I do, but you get what you pay for. Media that helps get you to "PENDING SALE" two weeks later is worth the money.
