Last fall I bought myself a “play” camera - something just for me rather than my photo business, something lighter and easier to carry around than my regular gear.

It hasn’t been that easy to learn how to use to be honest, but I’m trying to bring it around a lot more and hoping to develop some muscle memory around all the k***s and buttons and settings.

This summer so far, I’ve taken a million photos of my friend’s cute kids. Some baby bump + baby shower pics for my best friend. Maho has had her fair share of close ups. I’ve also taken all of these photos. It’s been a good summer.

Ice cream cones + gingham + golden hour on the bay = quintessential coastal Delaware charm.

This sweet family invited us into grandma and grandpa’s backyard for a mommy-and-me session before baby number two joins the crew. I enjoyed capturing this little guy navigating (and sharing) his ice cream cones like a true professional. Swipe through for all the bayfront charm.

Recently a pal asked if photographing at the beach allllll the time gets boring because it’s so much of the same. The answer is a hard NAH because while, yes, there is always sand and sea and sky, the people I photograph AND whatever show the sky puts on for us is always different.

Forrrrr example, this maternity session on the beach in Fenwick… when I showed up (5:45am, baby - rise & shine), there was a storm rolling around off the coast. I could see lightning streaks popping off in the distance. But it was so beautifully calm where we were. That sunrise timeframe is truly a favorite.

Another fun fact about this session - these two are high school sweethearts, welcoming their first baby very soon, and his family has been coming to Fenwick for ages! What better way to celebrate a baby on the way than taking photos with the person you love in a place that you love!!

A different kind of before and after! 💀😂🤭

When it comes to editing requests - I try to honor as many as I can, however, I’m unable to do extensive body modifications. Your little one got a black eye, sure no problem. A couple of pimples, they gone. You want to make it look like your kid is FLYING, I got you. But requests like “make me look like I lost 10lbs” or “fix my crooked nose” - not my forte. My rule for edits is if it’s not going to be there next week, I can most likely accommodate!

Shoulder season in Fenwick Island will always have my heart!

Last week during this sunset session we were chilly and windswept… and this week feels like full-on summer. The Delaware coast keeps us guessing 🫪

These golden hour moments of Katelyn and her three hilarious characters were gorgeous despite the cool air. We were barefoot, sandy, salty, and soaking up an empty beach before the season begins.

Five years later, and they still look at each other like that. 🥰

I first photographed Meghan & Sergio for their engagement session in DC and their wedding in Salisbury back in 2021! Getting to document them again (now that I live on the Delaware coast) for their anniversary portraits was such a gift. Lewes never disappoints as a backdrop.
