I recently visited America's newest National Park, New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. The park is nestled in the Southeastern corner of West Virginia on the Western slope of the Appalachian Mountains. The New River is unique in that it flows Northward. The most iconic feature of the park is the massive steel span bridge connecting Fayetteville, WV and Victor, WV which was built in 1977. This bridge is now the third longest steel span bridge in the western hemisphere and the third highest in the United States.
Aside from this iconic feature, the park holds breathtaking views from cliffs overlooking the deep gorge and an extensive trail network revealing an endless network of intimate streams and waterfalls.
The images of the gristmill are from Babcock State Park.
Enjoy the images and as always, you can see more images from this trip and more here: https://www.chrisbeasleyphotography.com/p474303084
