Happy fu***ng 40th to one of the best humans NC gave me. 🖤

It’s wild to think you started as someone who followed my work from afar, became one of my most loyal clients when I moved here, & somewhere along the way became one of my people.

You’re the friend who texts me when a new Alani flavor drops like it’s breaking national news. 😂 The one I can call when I need to bitch, vent, laugh, or say “okay, tell me if I’m being an asshole”, & I get that same phone call right back. You show up for me. You support me. You stand behind me, loudly & unapologetically, every single fu***ng time.

Somewhere along the way, your babies became my babies too. I love those kids like they came as part of the friendship package & I wouldn’t have it any other way.

There are people you meet & then there are people you’re genuinely fu***ng grateful life put in your path. You are the latter.

I adore the absolute s**t out of you, I’m ridiculously blessed to know you & I hope 40 brings you every damn thing you deserve.

No cap-and-gown assembly line. No leaning against a brick wall holding a “2027” sign. She’s got two hands. We handled it. 😂

Barefoot in the water. Cowboy boots in the field. A little wild, a little soft, and absolutely none of the cookie-cutter s**t.

This is what branding looks like when you photograph the work, not just the person doing it.

Rooted in NC helps farmers, ranchers + agritourism businesses figure out how to take everything they’ve built and actually get people to see it. Through marketing, content, storytelling and a whole lot of boots-on-the-ground connection.

So naturally, we took her branding session straight to one of her clients: Meadow Oaks Weddings and Events in Cameron, NC.

A working ranch. A wedding + event venue. Cows who were entirely too interested in my camera. 😂 And the perfect place to show exactly what Rooted in NC is about.

Helping the people behind agriculture tell their story, grow their business and remind people that some of the coolest s**t in North Carolina is happening right down a dirt road.

And if you’re looking for a wedding venue with actual character instead of another copy-and-paste ballroom…you might wanna go stalk Meadow Oaks Ranch while you’re at it. 🤌🏼

You know what my favorite part about this session was?

Nobody tried to force perfect. The babies got tired. The wind did whatever the hell it wanted. Someone cried. Someone tried to eat sand. Mom & Dad stole kisses whenever they could.

And somehow… that’s exactly what made it beautiful. Because years from now, they won’t remember the pose.

They’ll remember this.
