Sometimes people think it’s the location that makes a photo.

And yes, this lavender farm was beautiful.

But beautiful places are only a very small part of the story.

What makes an image unforgettable is the person standing in it. The excitement of a milestone you’ve been dreaming about. The memories tied to that season of life.

The lavender won’t always be in bloom.

Milestones for kids, milestones for pets, I’ve got you covered!

And this boy is proof that we can take them in just a simple corner of your backyard if needed! This is my 6 year old Shepherd, who unfortunately, doesn’t get to go on many outings in public places because he isn’t the kind of dog who can do so safely. So each year we snap a birthday photo in our backyard. And that’s okay! It works!

If you have dogs you believe are camera shy, won’t want to sit still, don’t enjoy going new places, or require a little extra patience - that’s okay!

Your dog doesn’t have to be perfect. They don’t have to be off leash or know dozens of tricks. They just have to be themselves. I’m happy to meet them where they’re most comfortable and create something that feels true to who they are.

Let’s talk about something real quick.

When’s the last time you did family photos? Like real family photos. Not the phone on the tripod. Not the ones of everybody but mom because she’s the one taking them.

Kids grow fast. Families grow. Dogs gray.

We can’t stop time. We can’t slow it down. But the closest thing we have to bottling it up is photographing it.

That’s where I come in. Tell your kids we’re going on an adventure. Let’s play some games with them. Take the dog on a car ride for a pup cup. Snap some memories of it all.

Family sessions don’t have to be stressful. And I highly recommend not skipping them.

One day these won’t just be photos.

They’ll be proof of who you were together.

Your kids won’t notice whether everyone was perfectly coordinated or if someone’s hair was out of place.

They’ll see you.

They’ll see the way you looked at them. The way you held their little hands. The way you laughed together.

And that’s worth preserving.
