Acorn Talk Photography - by Laurie Cassinari Newborn, Child and Family Portraiture; servicing the Farmington Valley Region and Avon, Simsbury, Bur Once I was asked what I would do if I had no obstacles.

Without hesitating my response was Photography! I have always been fascinated by the concept of capturing beauty...a ray of light, a rain drop on a flower petal, a private smile, ..and freezing a special moment in time, in a photograph. And the story that is captured in that image! In another lifetime (well, about 5 years ago!) I was a School Psychologist. I loved working with kids and helping the

m, and their families, get to a better place. When Kiddo #1 came a long, I took a break from the profession. Then Kiddo #2 surprised everyone by making her appearance, bless her heart! And then my "break" was made a bit more permanent! But I always missed connecting with others. It was my shear love of the human spirit and my fascination with capturing those special moments in time that drew me to photography. I want my 2 beautiful girls to see me doing that which makes my heart sing! And in this I hope they too do those things in life that make them feel alive and fulfilled. You ask about my name? Well, its a very happy relic from a not-so-happy childhood. It may not make sense, but it sure does make me smile when ever I say it! I'll tell you the story at another time!!

She is just as amusing today as she was oh-so-many years ago!

My Little Sofia. A ray of light that gives me my many grey hairs! In this moment in time, she calls herself "Meow" or "Kitty" (yes, in the 3rd person). Her best friends are her sister and her little buddie Raffie, with whom she is rarely without! She really is quite hysterical when she gets on a roll!
