As I’m updating the Emma Lucille Photos website, I’ve been thinking about all of the incredible people who have trusted me to document their stories, and I’d love to include a few words from you.

I believe your photographs should feel like more than a beautiful image. They should bring you back to the way the wind felt, the way you laughed together, the place you stood, and the people who surrounded you.

I believe in choosing places that mean something. In living the moment before worrying about capturing it. In leaving room for a little wonder, a little adventure, and all the beautifully unscripted pieces that make your story yours.

Because your story was never meant to look like everyone else’s.

It was meant to be lived, fully, intentionally, and in the places that become part of you.

Some places hold stories long before we ever arrive with a camera.

Getting ready in the bride’s historic childhood home felt like stepping into a chapter of her story that had been there all along, the walls worn with years of living, the familiar corners, the little details carrying memories from long before this day.

There’s something so beautiful about beginning a wedding day somewhere that already knows you.

A place where childhood memories were made, where seasons of life have come and gone, where the walls have quietly witnessed growing up, becoming, and now, stepping into something new.

And on this day, the home held one more memory.

Her getting ready. Her people gathered around her. The anticipation in the air. A new beginning rooted in a place that had already been part of her story for so long.

Because sometimes the most meaningful wedding locations aren’t the grandest ones.

They’re the places that feel like home.

The places worn by time, filled with memory, and carrying pieces of who we were into who we’re becoming.

Stories rooted in wild places, familiar places, and all the places that made us who we are.

A little adventure always finds its way into the story.

Avery’s senior session felt like her in all the best ways, full of movement, curiosity, and an adventurous spirit that couldn’t stay on the beaten path.

So, naturally, she wandered across the rocks for a few photos. The kind of moments that aren’t perfectly planned, but somehow become the ones that feel the most like you.

Because senior photos are about more than remembering what you looked like in this season. They’re about remembering who you were, the places you explored, the things that made you feel alive, and the courage to step a little farther into whatever comes next.

Here’s to chasing the view, taking the long way, and letting your story unfold along the way.

Senior photos don’t have to look like anyone else’s. They can feel like you, a little unexpected, a little adventurous, and completely rooted in this season of becoming.

Because someday, you’ll look back and remember more than the outfit or the skyline. You’ll remember who you were here. The dreams you carried. The places that felt like yours.

Because these photos aren’t just about what you looked like while you were engaged. They’re about remembering what this season felt like, the way you reached for each other, the places you loved to wander, and the quiet in-between moments that made this chapter yours.

Your engagement session can be an adventure, a slow evening, a favorite place, or simply more time with your person.

This summer has been full of little adventures with my seniors! Exploring new places, chasing beautiful light, seeing every fun outfit come to life, and finding new ways to tell each story through my lens.

I’ve especially loved experimenting with wide angles and letting the landscape become part of the photographs, because sometimes it’s not just about the person in front of my camera, but the places they’ll remember being in this season of their life.

So grateful for every senior who has trusted me to wander, create, and capture a little piece of their story this summer.

The sunset on your wedding day deserves a moment of its own!

Some of my favorite wedding photos are the ones where we slow down, step away from the rush, and take a moment to simply be. To soak in the sky, take a deep breath, look around at the person you just married, and let it all sink in.

Because years from now, these photos won’t just remind you what the sunset looked like, they’ll remind you how it felt to pause, absorb, and reflect on one of the most beautiful days of your life.
