Discrimination is not just about s*x or race. Disabilities are a true piece of someone's life. No matter how life has treated you - Please always feel welcome to come to Elska! There are so many wonderful photographers who will gladly accept you and anyone as their client!

This sweet family (also my niece) sent me a message asking if I photograph disabled children. I read the question several times, scratching my head and wondering if there was a different meaning to the question she was asking. Do I photograph disabled children? Why wouldn't I?

Well, let me tell you.

While trying to find a photographer to take their family pictures, they were told by multiple photographers that they could not do their photos because Noah has a disability. THE PHOTOGRAPHERS REFUSED TO TAKE THEIR FAMILY PICTURES BECAUSE THEY HAVE A DISABLED CHILD. 😡

I won't get on a tangent because I probably could write a book about how I feel; however, I will say this:

It is never okay to discriminate against a child or a family because of a disability. Ever.

And to the photographers who turned this family away - you missed out. You missed out on photographing a beautiful family and the sweetest, smiley, affectionate little boy who deserves to be celebrated and documented just as much as every other child.

As photographers, people trust us with some of the most important pieces of their lives. Every family deserves to feel welcomed, valued, and worthy of having their memories preserved. In my business, every single person is welcome. Every family is welcome. And every single story is worth documenting. ❤️

When I first met Nia & Jordein - I was instantly drawn to the way they looked at one another. The pure joy and excitement in this phase of love is so amazing.

Today we celebrate their marriage!

I cannot wait to spend the day with these two.
