When the lights go out. We lost power for a few hours this past Friday. So we broke out the candles and played card games on the kitchen island! What fun we had!! Lots of laughs. And an opportunity to practice my low light skills!

Yesterday we celebrated our Miss Z 💜
What can we say about her? She is such a beautiful gift from God. She knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to let you know. She’s strong-willed, confident, bright, inquisitive, and kind, and we are so grateful for the joy she brings to our family.

I just know she is going to be an amazing woman!!!

The Surprise Engagement!

Here’s a question surprise engagement or do you want in on the planning?

Back story, my husband never preposed. We didn’t have what people would call a traditional courtship. And while I love our love story I kinda wish he had asked me to marry him. And if that had been part of our story I totally would’ve wanted it to be a surprise!!!

I will never get over the magic of a good reception:
grandparents on the dance floor, little flower girls twirling in their “princess dresses,” college friends screaming the lyrics to songs that instantly take them back, and that one uncle who somehow knows every line dance by heart.
As a wedding photographer, this is one of my favorite parts of the day because the nerves melt away and you finally see everyone fully relaxed, laughing, and celebrating the gift of your sacrament together. These are the moments that become family legend—the stories your kids will hear one day about “how fun Mom and Dad’s wedding was.”
Here for the holy vows and the packed dance floors, the joyful chaos, and the blurry, joy‑filled photos you’ll treasure forever.
