It’s been a fun fall promoting Josh’s latest book. Letters has been a journey that started in 2018. It’s taken shape with a lot of time in the “garret”. From total Chaos to mostly order . Tomorrow Dec 5th at 4 pm I will share pictures and Josh will tell the stories along the way at Maryland Horse Library and Education Center in Riesterstown at 4 pm. Fall winds blew in from the west today. Yesterday’ balmy 78 degree calm must be hundreds of miles east of us now . Columbus would have had a strong head wind coming ashore.

Here’s a wayback Wednesday for you : to 2018 when Josh toted unexamined boxes from the Country Life basement to the 3rd floor attic. Thus began the work that led to the just released “Letters From Country Life. Adolphe Pons, Man O’ War and the founding of Maryland’s Oldest Thoroughbred Farm” available from your favorite bookseller as well as in person Saturday August 17th in Saratoga NY at The National Museum of Racing during a morning book signing. refractomter - colostrum tester- A simple tool for viewing the quality of a mares colostrum. Used most often if a mare has dripped milk in concerning amounts before the foal is born. If it’s in the poor range we supplement the foal first w bottles first from a bank of frozen colostrum.
