When we look from a distance, they only seem prickly and sharp, but when we take our time to look deeper, we can see that they have a lot of smooth, more approachable sides too. The Value of Life (Potsdam, Germany)
When you stroll through palaces and castles throughout Europe you can't help but think to yourself what it would really be like to have so much, to live so lavishly, to have wealth that secured your family line for generations. It was hard to break into one class and out of another back then. One item in this room alone probably cost more than someone was paid who worked there. Everything is worth something, and to people who lived in places like this, those tangible things must've held more value than the people who dusted them off. So, hang this one on your wall, to remind you that nothing tangible in this world could ever be worth more than you are.

"The light here in the Sahara Desert at sunset is of pure gold. It changes the color of the sand in ways that seem impossible. This image is presented here almost completely unedited, with no added saturation. The golden show you see before you is the true view. It's completely breathtaking and something I believe everyone should see in their lifetime. We raced from the peak of that highest dune straight ahead to catch the sunlight when it hit to top. It's not easy running in sand or climbing up these dunes, but being a little out of breath was totally worth it."

Its beauty and fame make Zermatt a popular spot to visit, especially during the summer months when the views of the mountain are a bit more accessible. This mountain is perfect at any angle. We enjoyed a clear day here hiking the surrounding mountains when this cloud caught onto this famous mountain pointed at the stars. It made for a perfect view from a distance."

"The cabin in the woods calls to a certain kind of person. One who appreciates nature, in all its complex colors. A person drawn to the adventure of the outdoors. This cabin, small and subtle, is camouflaged into the peak of the Austrian Alps. Hardly noticeable from a distance, but a quaint and calming spot to rest once up-close. Hello everyone! Thank you all for the support over the first couple days of launching this new page and website! I have a few updates for everyone:

After some requests, I have added an even larger selection of semi-gloss print options and sizes, larger gallery board options, more ornament options, and a larger variety of frame and sizing options for the matted frames! All are great holiday gifts!!

Secondly, I realized after launching my photography store that the default pricing options went out on the matted frames and gallery boards. I have since edited all of those prices to my original pricing list, which will make the gallery board and matted frame options more affordable. Thank you for being here! It has been my honor and privilege to explore and photograph a number of wonderful, awe-inspiring destinations around the globe. And now, I would like to share my joy of these photographs with you. Take a look around to find anything that you can relate to, reminisce in, or inspire you to jump out into a world of possibilities. Any purchase is graciously appreciated. For those who are willing to share and tell others about my galleries here, I thank you in advance.

Before jumping in to my galleries, let me introduce myself. My name is Joshua P. Fess. I'm 23, a native of Fairport, New York, and a recent graduate of Nazareth College. Most importantly, I am a lover of travel. I only started traveling internationally recently, when I was selected to join a service trip to Nicaragua my freshman year of college. I instantly fell in love with travel, service abroad, and all of the connections you make with people through these experiences. Since then I have been blessed to have participated in a number of alternative break service trips over years. I also studied abroad both short term (Italy, Ukraine, Poland, etc.) and long term (Germany), along with traveling independently, with friends, and my brother. I most recently returned from a two and a half month cross-country road trip, mostly visiting the U.S. National Parks out west.

In the coming weeks I will also launch another website for Adventure Awaits Travel, a website and blog that will give readers insights on places I enjoy, how to plan trips yourself, and where to travel. I will also offer a travel planning service - whether you are looking to backpack through Europe or book a fancy trip to the Caribbean, I can plan your perfect trip. More to come on that soon though.
