Under the Stars in New Mexico’s Valley of Dreams 🌌

I’ve wanted to photograph Alien Throne for quite some time, but the remoteness of the area always made me hesitant to venture out there alone. I recently had the opportunity to explore the valley with Kialo Winters of Navajo Tours, who helped make the whole experience possible

What an incredible place to photograph!

Beyond Alien Throne, we explored other fascinating formations, including Sentinel and Howling Coyote, all beneath beautifully clear night skies

For this series, I experimented with a warmer approach to processing the Milky Way and night sky. I really like how the warmer tones complement the desert landscape and give these images a cohesive, true-to-life vibe

Hi yall, I know Its been a minute! 🤠

While I’ve been spending most of my time lately photographing real estate, behind the scenes I’ve also been planning some exciting new landscape and astrophotography adventures 🌌

Several new photography workshops are now on the calendar, exploring some of the most remarkable landscapes and dark skies in the West

I’m also considering adding a few new destinations, including the Great Sand Dunes, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Mesa Verde and possibly Arizona

I’ve also got some catching up to do, too! We recently returned from another adventure in New Mexico’s otherworldly Bisti Badlands (pictured here), and I’m behind on sharing images and stories from our time there

And in just a couple of weeks, we’re heading back to Big Bend National Park

I’ll be sharing more from both adventures soon, along with photography tips, field notes and lessons learned along the way

📌 The Town of Alma, Colorado

Nestled in a narrow valley beneath the Mosquito Range and Mt. Bross at an elevation of 10,578 feet, Alma takes the crown as the highest incorporated town in North America.

Alma has grown quite a bit over the last few years. For a tiny town, Alma is now home to Bristlecone Bake Shop, Alma’s Only Dogs, The Dusty Bottle Saloon, a handful of shops, dispensaries and real estate offices, a gym, lodging and, of course, the legendary Al-Mart.
