There’s something special about photographing two people who have built a life together.

Sometimes they’ve been together a few years. Sometimes it’s been 30, 40, or even 50. They’ve raised families, celebrated the good times, walked through difficult seasons, and created a lifetime of memories together.

And yet, when you ask when they last had a beautiful portrait made together, the answer is often, “I can’t remember.”

That’s one of the reasons I love creating couples’ portraits.

It’s not really about having your picture taken. It’s about stopping for a moment and celebrating the person who has been beside you through all of it.
