Last week was a big one in the art world for T. Love Media!
First and foremost, my dear friend Angelica invited me to be a guest in her digital media class. I spent Monday and Wednesday in the classroom talking through preparations and photo taking methods for stop motion animation. I got to meet lots of bright students, and I’m looking forward to returning next week to see their finished projects!
On Thursday evening, I additionally had the opportunity to present an artist talk in the Fairmont State University library. I have both Joel Dugan and Angelica to thank for the encouragement and preparations, as well as for coming to cheer me on. This was my first large-scale talk, and I was ecstatic to have such a turnout, as well as so much positive interaction during the Q&A portion. I got to explain my pre-production practices (aka what I get to do full time, now, at Mtn Craft) as well as screen some work from my time with The Warhol Academy. It was overall such a wonderful experience, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the respect and kindness I received.
Finally, on Friday evening four of my photos from “Out Wayne” went on display at the Monongalia Arts Center in the ArtHouse show, “Artists in the Heart of Appalachia.” I was excited to share the space with several artists, including my dear friend Alex Sawyer! Her and I have been friends since our first day of college, but this is the first time our artworks have been on display side by side. It was such an awesome surprise! And, of course, I was happy to have my family and partner there to support me. The show will be up at the MAC until the end of April, so go see it if you have the chance!
It’s a busy time, but I like busy! Thanks for sticking around. ❤️
